This game looks and plays very nicely. Great job with this one!

Really good looking game! All the effect are amazing! I would have like to finish it, but each time I died I respawn at the start, you should definitely add checkpoint to prevent frustration. Overall really cool game!

Great sound design! Loved the visuals of it, and good use of the theme for the game. Nice work!

Thank you! October is a wonderful composer and I feel pretty good about where the sound effects ended up, especially for my first jam. I like the sound design in your game as well (in addition to the art, music)!

Great game! I really like the scenery and the music!

Wow dude!!  very nice game!

i love the little things like the death animation is awesome, and the fact that you loose pixels from your body when you take damage is amazing, how did you do that?  is it a few sprites that you gradually fade out when taking damage or is an actual pixel count that you reduce 1 by 1?   that's very original.

*** edit :  i'm still trying to finish it :D ***

The losing pixels effect is done using a shader which removes pixels based on their color and sets the remaining pixels to be a solid color.

This game's really cool; definitely has the feel of something that could be professionally released with some more content! It looks good, sounds good, and plays good for the most part. I've seen the "stay out of the light" gimmick in a few other games this jam, but I think the alien twist you introduce in the final level is a really interesting idea that proves this game is more original than the pack. The only real critique I have of the game is that I found myself wishing there were some mid-level checkpoints. I died a couple times late into a level and it was a little draining having to spend a few minutes getting back to where I died. Apart from that though, everything else about this game really shines! (pun intended)

Nice visuals, effects and sounds. And an interesting take on the theme!

Awesome dithering and sound effects! This is an awesome game!

This gives the classic Run and Gun vibes (without the gun)! The way the music works in tandem with the game makes you hard to stop in between!

Especially loved the sound & bird effects on dying xD

One thing I'd recommend is having some save points since starting from the start makes it hard (just like the old classics) if you lose after a long run by chance.

Dang this game has a lot of polish, great music and art! I would have easily confused this game for a full-released sega genesis/retro console game if it wasn't in the game jam submissions. This would be a sweet game for me to put on my raspberry pi arcade. Awesome work, I hope this game keeps getting updates  beyond the jam

Loved playing this! The art + music are insanely good, and the central mechanic has a ton of potential. Good job!!

Okay it was good! A lot of very megaman-y finds I liked! Music is gerat, gameplay works well...good job!!

I just felt like it lacked a bit of scenery: some dialog lines to explain who you are and why you're running, some context...my only lacking point here!

I'm genuienly shocked this isn't one of the most rated games in the jam. I love the art style it's really well done. The gameplay of avoiding lights using shadows is great and the music is amazing. Like others I am experiencing a bug of not being able to jump after dying but thankfully you can just restart the game.

Love everything about this game, art style, music, theme, it's all great. But I keep getting a bug where im unable to jump even though im on the ground, it happens after I die and the level restarts, I just have to restart the game and it all works fine. hope you can fix it!!

The movement feels good, but the sprite is a bit blurry while running.
