Nice combination of pixel + voxel + orthographic cam + dither.
I wanted to change the color palette from the option & it didn't seem to work.
I used UE4 for my game as well & it's almost 800mb download unoptimized.
Thank you for trying the game!
We did not include the ability to switch palettes to avoid confusion in the 1bit category.
Unfortunately, despite this the game was not recognized for it and we still received ratings below 5 in that category despite using only two colors...
So on second thought now maybe we could have included it
Really cool game its not easy to pull this off in 3d, great visuals and it was pretty fun!
What worked:
The aesthetics look great. I like the characters and the dialogue we share. There's a good variety of people, some shady, other very shady in classic noir fashion. I like the contrast of the people's personalities too, being lurking dark figures, but generally pleasant. It's also nice that what they needed was usually nearby.
It runs well for the most part, and the menus and UI are presented very well. I like the feeling of wandering around a city at late night, unsure if the next person you see will be a friendly face, or the last one you'll ever see.
What didn't:
The map can be a bit confusing due to the sheer size of it and all the different streets. A map would be helpful here.
I really wish the game portion had some smooth jazz to accompany it, even the same track from the menu. It felt too quiet wandering around for so long, and I think a soundtrack would add to the noir atmosphere.
I would have loved some noir narration of some sort. Maybe something when you pick up items? Just a blurb, or even an item description in a menu. It could also occur at major plot points (the start, major milestones in items acquired).
Bugs:
On controller: Sometimes I am unable to select a dialogue option (usually after picking an option from multiple, then there only being one option) and have to use my mouse.
Sometimes the monsters would spawn without sound and rush me to the point where it was too late. Not sure if a bug, but it does suck.
I think once a monster got stuck somewhere, so I didn't have to deal with them spawning. I don't know if it can be replicated, but it happened.

Great job! Could only get bad and monster endings. Maybe I'll try for the good one later when I have more time.
Thank you for your very detailed review and time!
Unfortunately I was aware of the controller bug and the problem with the monsters but given how little time I have these days (and during the jam) they just stayed there...
We would like to continue work on the game even after the jam so all these details about your experience are gold.
Thanks again!
love the artstyle, I'm a sucker for 2d character sprites in 3d spaces, even tho there is no music, the ambiance is set really well together with the tiny footsteps of the MC. Good job!
Best visuals I've seen so far, by a large margin. The combination of voxel environment with hand drawn characters is really well done and make every interactable item clear and easy to see, excellent artstyle all around.
The gameplay is quite classic but perfectly put together. The flow of item and character discovery was smooth and easy to understand and every conversation was pleasant without being verbose. Lighting ghosts with the flashlight to kill them felt a bit like an afterthought tho and I guess that's where the implementation of the theme has been focused ?
Amazing entry overall, really deserves to be all the way up. The low number of rating is most likely going to boost your score even more if that's any consolation.
Yoyoyo first of all thanks for the appreciation!
About the theme implementation... gameplay development has been a little bit "foggy" since we worked on it everyday, and everyday we changed something. The light/dark theme in the game is found in many things:
If we didn't manage to make it clear, then it's our fault. That being said, I think anyone should believe to their own interpretations and, most of all, have fun with the game!
Again, thanks for playing our game, we truly appreciate <3
HIGHLY UNDERRATED! This is one of my best-rated games so far.
I really loved the art style. It was beautiful!
I had to run in VM since I don't have a Windows PC so I guess that might be why I faced lots of glitches & bugs related to lighting & player character.
I'd love to see a detective mystery game with this style!
Hey, thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately we were too late in production when we found out that lots of people preferred playing games directly from their browser. We highly appreciate your review but most of all the dedication you had to try our game.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
You did a great job, the game is really polished and I love the art style
Thank you so much for trying the game and commenting!
I don't think I have tried your game yet so as soon as I can I will do the same!
Very good game ! It's cool to have to help people while staying on the lookout for monsters ! I had a good time playing this game
Really love the UI and shaders in this game, really makes the whole project shine with polish! Kudos to you for having an options screen and controller support as well. Overall, great job!
The atmosphere is so cool for this game, I also love how the dialogue scene looks. This entire game is generally very immersive great job!
Hey! Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! :)
this game is good.
A shame that I can't vote... This game is amazing! My best wishes to the creators <3
