Congratuliations, I will follow you and I will be waiting for your next games. You are tough, keep on!

Developer

Thank you, I'm currently working on a better version of that "game". I certainly will! :D

Sadly, i can only bad voting you, as part of the jam.
But, for a first game it's will be a good starting with more development, don't give up and continue practicing and follow some game jams!

Developer

I will do that for sure, thanks for the comment :)

Congratulations on your first game! I agree with what Lunatic Dancer says, that the game itself isn't much but there's always room for improvement. I also second their suggestion of Game Maker Studio (specifically 1.4 if you can find it, since I've heard the free GM:S 2 has some major drawbacks), since I've always felt it was easier to use. For example, collision can be handled entirely by simple drag-and-drop actions if you want. I'd still recommend learning Unity since it uses an actual programming language (GMS uses its own, dumbed-down language), but I would start with Game Maker.

Developer

i'm going to look into game maker studio and thank you :)

Congrats on the first jam!

There's not much of a game to talk about, but you certainly did well for a complete beginner, hope you'll keep improving. From my experience, Unity is too big and too clunky of an engine to do something impressive during a jam.
I personally use GameMaker: Studio 1.4 Pro, it can't be purchased anymore, but it's lightning fast at getting the game done. Your game could be finished in it within 10 minutes max, without using any programming, without being a pro. A pro would cut the time to 1-2 minutes. The engines bussines model is meh, but the engine itself is excellent, very easy to use and fast to show results. My jam game is of course made with GMS 1.4, you can go check it out to see what I'm talking about.
Sorry that my comment turnt into a rant, but in my opinion Unity isn't the best engine for beginners, and it's quite terrible for Jams.

Hi Lunatic Dancer

Your game is pretty fun. well i use unity since there is a lot of tutorials and material for when you need it and want to improve my programming skills, i might look into other engines to. no problem for the rant. :p

Congratulations on your first game jam!

This is very simple but you did manage to get a gameplay loop down. It is a good thing that you kept the scope small enough to be able to finish. Keep working on the programming and understanding the Unity engine (how the input, physics/collision etc systems work) and you can slowly increase your scope!

It is worth allocating a bit of time for polish - add in a few sounds, game over screen etc will help a lot too. Also make sure you play test: the UI for the game over text in the web version doesnt all fit on the screen!

Keep it up eh

Developer

Thank you very much, your tips are always appreciated. :D

i gave you bad voting for only the game. i cant vote you good only cause your new to making games. but looks good for a starter. my first game wasnt a gtaV either.

Developer

Yes, I understand. I'm not going for good points, just happy i finally finished something. Indeed the journey has to start somewhere right! :)

The concept idea is good, but it's to short to be explored. Maybe you could expand the game by ading more levels and some mechanics and you could come up with a pretty good game.

Developer

Yes, that was the point but sadly i didn't have the time to make more levels. thank you for the comment :)
