From what I played, this was a really well done game. Though I did feel a bit lost and didn't know what to do, though I did accidentally skip a lot of the dialogue.

I would say that idea behind the game is pretty nice. I liked how you would gather clues and could write your own notes, plus the dialogue was actually on quite good level. Graphics wise, I liked the idea that outside dialogue sprites had that paper feel to them, though I would say that the sketchiness of dialogue portraits doesn't fit that much to them, though it's not that big of a deal. Thing that sadly didn't let me finish the game and enjoy fully, was well-known by you bug, where game gets softlocked and you cannot do anything with it. I stumbled on it many, too many times (mostly when going to the room with light control) and the worst that I often stumbled on it when I had gathered the most of evidence and I practically lost all my progress just to start again, which was sad really, since I wanted to finish it. Depsite that, it was still enjoyable experience.

Love this game! I like the idea of having everyone being 2D "billboards" in a 3D world. Also, great audio, it really fit the theme well.

Funny little game with cute characters. I liked the music a lot and the UI.

This reminded me of the old "Detective!" game on the Commodore 64! The artwork is so well done and full of character! So many aspects of the game from the UI to the character names were obviously carefully considered and implemented. The music was very well-suited, and I liked how it morphed a little bit more every time you went back in time.

I was hoping that the contents of the safe would reveal more of the story. As it was, I guessed the culprit right on the first attempt, but I felt like they got arrested on super circumstantial evidence, and at the end of the game I wanted to know more of the backstory & what was going on. Nonetheless it was a lot of fun to play! This just goes to show not all games are better when they have no text. Thanks for sharing this fun game!

Just wanted to point out you should edit your submission you say "Yes" since you did follow the optional theme!

Fun game, I liked that there was  an in-game note taking  system as well as the numerous dialogue options to explore. I only got a little stuck for a bit   because I didn't realize I had to present 3 types of evidence  before I could preview, perhaps making three empty slots and giving the evidence side arrows slightly more contrast would help. Great detective game team :)

I loved the take on the detective game! I think it could've been clearer whether or not characters were following chronological motions, but still a fun idea in general. Also, having locks on dialogue for saying certain things to them was also a really lovely idea

My main issue with the game comes with the graphics. The 2D art, while sketchy, was well executed and was a great first introduction to the game. However, I don't think there was enough time for the 3D models to make those look as appealing. The juxtaposition between the paper cut-out style of the characters in the poorly lit and overly detailed background did not come together cohesively. Something like Patch Quest would've been a great example for how i'd suggest you compliment the overworld character models. Between the portraits, the paper cut out OW characters, and the hyperrealistic background it unfortunately took away from the gameplay

This was a larger team and the UI and overall take on the theme was well done. I'm excited to see more from your group in the future

Very cool concept ! Really enjoyed having to be careful about what you asks NPCs about, and the time advancing when interacting with them.  The writing is excellent as well.

A refreshing take on dialogue driven games.

Unfortunately I ran into a bug after going into the hallway on the far side after the first reset, where i couldnt interact with anything even after waiting for the thief and reappearing in the main hall, but I'll definitely play again !
