Wow great job on this game! The story is well crafted, and the puzzles are very challenging but in a good way. The interactive music was cool (if a bit repetitive), and the visuals are really fantastic. Nice work!

So time for quick review - story and gameplay wise, game is pretty good. With each level, usage complexity of time mechanic changes and that's great. Technicality wise there is some weird bug that appears if you manage to jump while dialogue appears on screen - character is stuck in the air and only way to solve it is to reset the level (which cannot be done on the first one). Sadly I didn't complete the game fully (I couldn't find a way to get pass 6th factory level), it seemed like I didn't have second box with me on top but sadly, that didn't matter since two boxes existing in the level were on different timelines. Other than that, I had a lot of fun and it's fairly polished product.

Nice audio, UI, art, esp character portraits. The different dialogue blips for each character was a nice touch, too. The dialogue also had its moments: "Yes master Yoda, could you speak my language please?" A fun little game that doesn't take itself too seriously (but the devs definitely put in the time!) Love that the respawn mechanic was explained with lore too.

Just a little feedback / bugs from playing:

  • The "Important!" arrows were difficult to distinguish since they're similar to the color of the flames. Almost missed some of them because I thought they were little fires. Might want to consider coloring them differently? or having some lines coming out of them to differentiate them from all the fires.
  • The time travel UI gets cut off at the top when you're near the top of the level (noticed it when playing the first level in the laboratory, just after getting the time travel mechanic) (playing on WebGL).
  • Not sure how to replicate the bug, but on the first lab level I jumped, tried to time travel, didn't make it in time, died with the UI open, immediately started spamming Z/X to skip the dialogue, then the bug: no character portraits showed when re-playing that first dialogue sequence ("Spikes?? Are you trying to kill me??"), and Dr. Mara's name was on the wrong side of the screen. Also I couldn't skip dialogue with X anymore. When I died again on that same level (I'm really struggling with this level for some reason lol), the dialogue cutscene returned to normal.
  • I wish there was a shortcut for the time travel UI, like you can pull it up with "C" and then by pressing left, right, up, or down, you automatically select and confirm that option instead of having to "scroll" to it and then confirming.
  • There's a delay for when you can confirm your time travel option. If you try to immediately select one of them, nothing happens. Press again, and it works. Alternatively, if you just wait a moment with the UI open, just one button press confirms it.

But the pros far outweigh the bugs here. This is a very polished game for a game jam including sound, art, idle animations, thoughtful puzzles and mechanics... How did you do it all? Do you have some time kind of time travel device yourselves?? Amazing work!

As others mentioned I also died a few times on the first scene and reading back the entire dialog was a bit boring.. Anyhow this is a really cool little game! The story kept me playing! It talks to me as I were severely injured 4 years ago and spent 3 months at the hospital. When I woke up I forgot a lot of things but hopefully memories came back days after days. So yeah I personally got into the story and quite enjoyed it!

Really great pixel art and animations too - which wasn't necessarily what I expected seeing the thumbnail at first. You should probably showcase more your art on the page to attract players because your game deserves some attention.

That said thank you very much for this cool entry! ^^

Interesting story, great pixel art, and the time mechanic was cool!

I only have to say that that first  room is pretty buggy and I  had to go through the intro dialogue a few times  before I could finally leave. And while I understand your importance on the dialogue,   re-running through it   on every death is pretty excessive -- a dialogue skip would be incredibly appreciated.

That helps a lot! I would definitely add that to your game page

Really polished platforming and core mechanics, tho I kept being rewound to the begining of the game on the first level and having to go trough the dialogue again, is that normal? If so a counter would be nice.
