What a nervous game! Love the style!
Love this, satisfying and juicy entry
Really cool game. I like that you designed it in a way that kind of forces the player to engage with it in the funnest way, with the decreasing health bar and throws for bonus damage. The one little thing I could say is that the projectile attack could have an indicator like the dash one, because as I was fighting on melee range, I didnt really know what the attack was, as it was hitting me instantly.
Interesting game! I don't think I've ever played a game that required both hands to be on the keyboard home keys or had this kind of camera angle. My only issue with this is the number of hits that it takes to attack enemies. Taking over 10 hits to defeat each enemy seems like it could cause carpel tunnel/ I was just constantly spamming J.
Cool game though!
it was pretty easy for me personally but i like the potential of it
really solid entry, from the artstyle to the music
cool style and fast action.
i did get softlocked on that first boss that shoots yellow balls. he just stood there doing nothing and i couldn't attack him
Fun and meatty fighting game. The small critique would be that jumping was easier to use to dodge than a dodge... Or maybe a skill issue ;p
Actually addicted to this, very well done!
I love the intense action, music, moving train background and that it grades you at the end DMC style. Being able to throw the enemy is very satisfying. Although once I realized I couldn't die, a lot of the tension disappeared. Its also a bit tough to distinguish between dodge-able and not dodge-attacks. I feel that the dodge-able ones are fine with just the sound and charge up animations.
Holy shit, incredibly fun game! It almost feels like a simplified devil may cry! It feels really fun to pummel enemies and throw them into each other.
For something so good though, I have a couple critiques. I think you should be able to cancel an attack into a dodge, or at least the time between the two shouldn't be so long, as it's easier to jump out of an attack faster than you can dodge out of it, which feels a bit weird. I think that you should be able to jump with spacebar as well but that's just a preference thing. I also think that the exclamation marks for dodge-through attack and not dodge-through attack should be way more easy to spot the difference between at a glance, especially as they are only shown to you for a split second (maybe the non-dodge one should be red).
That said, this is probably my favourite entry I've played so far, it's just so satisfying and fun!
Hey, thanks for playing and for the feedback :)
You should be able to dodge cancel tbh, though if there's too much of a delay then it's probably a bug. I'll see about it after the jam ends since there's basically no time now lol
