What do you like about your game?
What I like the most about this was the theme. I had this game idea/mechanic for a while now, but I can't make it for some reason. This jam gave me the motivation I needed to finally make it and finish making another game. What I like the most in my game were the lighting and the procedural animations as I was experimenting on them. I was also my first time creating a UI that I'm proud of (though the code for that was very spaghetti). Can't wait for the next jam!

Very nice. Quite disorienting, but it once you wrap your head around it it combines an interesting strategic approach with a real-time performance aspect.
Beautiful presentation with a unique mechanic that adds depth to gameplay, despite the challenging control scheme. The visual style is captivating, and the music enhances the experience. A few tweaks to controls could make it even better. Great work!
The game is really beautiful. 5/5 for presentation. The controls keep tripping me up though. I like the mechanic of changing which obstacles exist depending on the direction, but camera flipping makes me lose track of my character on the screen when I need to make a change mid jump. The visual difference between the two “worlds” was too subtle for me so I also would sometimes press the wrong direction and accidentally trigger a spike on top of myself. Still really fun though, I got to level 8.
While I am not a huge fan of the main mechanic, the presentation is impeccable. Well done!
I couldn't get past level 7, tough
I really liked the visual style and the gameplay. The movement was tight and the main mechanic was very fun. Level 5 was a bitch and level 7 stumped me. The music was also great!
You did a great job with making basic shapes look very pretty with good lighting and colors. The grain also adds a lot and the UI is well-designed (I also like the little cursor-responsive effect in the menu, that's a nice touch). I think the player character could use some squash-and-stretch when moving and falling for some extra juice though.
While the level design & character controller are well done, I didn't enjoy the main mechanic; it made the game hard in a frustrating and somewhat dizzying way and I think I would like the game more if it just had the level element switching based on the direction and no screen flipping, with some tighter platforming in exchange. The spacebar-for-flipping suggestion below also sounds good to me. I'm not a big platformer player though so it might be just me :)
I also wish the restarting after death was a bit quicker. Nice job overall though, it's very stylish and the gameplay has good potential.
Love the polish on this, everything looks amazing
Very nice, chill color scheme, interesting puzzles, and a unique mechanic. Controls can be a bit difficult to get used to though. Very solid overall!
Neat mechanics and concept. The visuals are awesome, I enjoy the subtle point light.
The flipping of directions on the map worked weird with the input controls. I kept getting disoriented and as the levels got more complex I had a harder time discerning whether when I press "A" or "D" it will flip the map or move me to the right. I would have preferred it work as 3 buttons: space button, move right button, and flip map button. Removing the ambiguity of the controls would really help the inversion theme express itself more smoothly. Controls are also a bit touchy, which sent me flying into spikes when trying to adjust my position a few times.
Overall though a nice game, relaxing atmosphere!
Thank you for playing the game.
About the flipping of direction, my idea was that the level appears mirrored when you try to move to the left. The point lights that show up when the level is flipped is supposed to look like as if you are viewing the world through a mirror, but I can't seem to get it to look right.
I see your point about the 3 buttons. It simply didn't come into mind since I got used to the flipping being tied to the player's velocity. My playtesters didn't seem to mind as well.
If I ever make this into a full game, I will include that option in the accessibility settings, as well as tweaking the player's acceleration. Thanks again!
Is this a 541 or a 145
Uhm, a what?
I like the levels, the music, the gameplay, everything was good. Good job :)
I like the mechanic and want to play a bit more levels
Thanks! I might make this into a full game if it places high on the rankings.
