What do you like about your game?
The atmosphere. And dialogue system. And the random character generation. Oh and the main scanning mechanic that's pretty cool too (I like everything).

I really like that type of game kind of "paper please" like. The dialogue system gets super absurd and funny sometimes, I loved that.

I think I have the potential to be pretty fun in the long run adding some lore, and mechanics (I can't stop thinking on paper please when think about how the game could grow tbh tho xD)

Hi, really cool interpretation of the theme. The game feels very polished, and the scanning mechanic looks awesome. It reminds me a lot of Papers Please, which is a very good thing. The sounds are great, maybe consider adding a volume slider, as I had to turn down the app's volume from the mixer (it was a little bit too loud). The overall atmosphere fits a lot the theme and it's quite tense sometimes. At some point I heard footsteps and got killed. I was terrified, I really didn't expect that. Again, really good job, you managed to not also finish your game, but also to polish it quite a lot.

Good luck with the jam, you deserve it all! <33333

Thank you very much for your comment! I'm super glad you enjoyed it :DD

I really wish I could've added a volume slider, or a main menu for that matter but I barely had time to finish the game in time so unfortunately those things had to get axed.

Good luck to you as well!

Np, I also had to cut a lot of things in the end, and the game turned out a little bit short with some unbalancing. But it is what it is I guess.

Thank you <33

unfortunately, i think my experience was not the one intended :/

the questioning mechanic simply did not work for me, i couldnt click on the bones or any other part which explains why it took so much time for me to understand why i was so bad x)

BUT, it was still pretty fun and addictive so well played :D the things that worked for me were cool, the tension was palpable when waiting for the runnong sound

Developer(+1)

Oh that's such a shame! I'm not sure why the bone clicking didn't work for you, it should be direct.

(btw the questioning mechanic is just for flavour in this version, as you only need to spot what is wrong to see if you need to dispose of them or let them pass, so it's not needed for playing the game)

Submitted(+1)

The delay between failing and hearing them run up to you is a great touch. It got me every single time. Also I'm very bad at this game. Someone else mentioned this already, but I would love to see the game show me exactly what I got wrong, I think that way I might have actually improved. Otherwise no complaints, it was fun. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! Yeah the game could've done with showing you what you missed, and I could've probably fit it into the narrative somehow but I unfortunately didn't have the time since it wasn't completely necessary to the experience.

Feels rewarding when you stop being shit at the game (which I definitely was). You do a great job of capturing the backdrop of the dystopian society, presumably wrought by these AI replicants. A feature I think is a big draw to papers, please types.

Gameplay is top notch, seems like you implemented a pretty robust randomization system. (although i fear the day, the pinky toe experiences an anamoly)

Congrats on the release!

Thank you very much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it.

I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay as is, since I originally planned to add more ways of detection but could only fit the one - that along with the "humans" changing appearance ;)

Lots of dialogue and variety here. The art is also pretty good! Great submission.

Developer

Thanks a lot!

a wholesome take on Papers, Please where you let everyone in because everyone’s normal. under no circumstance will you discard a person. especially not that one guy who did intense yoga. that seems like a normal consequence of intense yoga. let him in.

Developer

That is correct. Following orders is rewarded. Leniency is the name of the game.

the sound when you fail is genuinely terrifying (and i failed a lot)

fun game :)

Developer

Thank you!

After trying it with my actual pc, selecting parts finally worked.
The characters drawings are all a bit odd, uncanny, and I don't know if it was intentional, but it really adds to the atmosphere of the game, it always feels like something is worng with them, you're always scared of pressing the green button. Sometimes is really hard to tell if they're human, good job, nice game.

Also I admit that the first time I fell for the first boss in the intro lol

Thank you very much!

Very atmospheric, and I especially liked the twist at the start.  If I could add one thing, it would be the game telling you what the wrong body part was if you accidentally let an AI in. Also damn those footsteps...

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I did think about adding that, but I couldn't figure out how to fit how you would even get to know that into the narrative and frankly didn't have time lol

Cool idea and narrative. The art fits the overall vibe the game is trying to sell. I always get scared of clicking the green button, which is good. I don't really play this type of game much, so I don't know what type of progression you could add, but right now the game is too stationary for me. However, as a one-off narrative experience, it is quite solid.

Developer

Thank you very much! Yeah I planned it to be a one-off thing for now because this is a game jam but I would like to flesh this out into a proper game. I had more things planned, taking blood samples, weird clothing, weird dialogue and anomalies that were normal (like a missing kidney) but unfortunately didn't have the time to implement them :/

Cool concept of Paper Please-like game with AI imposing as human. I'm surprised how detailed the scan system are, like you can click on every ribs and their private parts (and question it for no reason lol), it's very impressive and leave me wondering how you did it. Some things can be made more clear, like the time left for the shift, but overall a very solid game. (And the footsteps is scary af)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The scan system was indeed pretty complicated lol (the main script is like ~1000 lines long) and I had to draw each part separately but I think it was worth it in the end.

I did want to add a clock to show the time left but there was just so much other stuff to do that I never got around to it lol

I liked the intro, esp. with the fakeout, but I got got about five times and gave up despite feeling like I’d been pretty through.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah I guess it could be tough to notice the anomalies, you just have to be extremely thorough.

Submitted

Was not able to figure out how to actually question people about things wrong with their body. Great rough prototype though.

Developer

When noticing an anomaly you click on it, for example if it's missing you click on where it's supposed to be and if it's duplicated you click on the original, then hit Select Anomaly. You're then brought up to the main view and a blue question mark button appears, that's the interrogate button.

Submitted

odd, I was trying to click on anomalies and was getting no response. I’ll give it another shot in a bit

Developer

Thank you, please let me now if it works then. I've also updated the description to include some instructions.

Love the game, all the different dialogues, the variable character design, also the sound is great?? Especially when they kindly walk up to me, I love that, it really adds to the tense vibe. I love the overall tense atmosphere. And the explanations for twisted organs. Very fun game

Developer

Thank you so much!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it :DD
