I don't play this style of game but it's really very well done. The level design naturally leads you to people to chat with, which is great. Battle and interacting with items are intuitive, well done! Hopefully this playtesting video can help you:
Just walked around for a bit and killed a few things - dig the retro art style. I noticed that when whenever I clicked on anything in my inventory, it would automatically get used. I thought the sky looked really cool.
I would appreciate a Linux build if you don't mind -- it doesn't work well with wine, and when I try to virtualize it I get a `dx11 feature level 10` error. Will continue to try to get it to work because it looks fun.
World looks comfy and promising! Takes me back to early 2000s or so.
A little tutorial or screen where a user can see controls would be ideal, I just clicked buttons until something happened.
The camera can clip through the walls of the cave and everything gets dark.
I jumped off the edge of the world because of course I did, and didn't really get a game over or anything, it just permanently had the camera looking at the clouds. Then I clicked "load game" and it crashed.
When you jumped off you died, but I didn't think about adding some kind of gameover screen, so its just the camera stopping. I'll add one in the next update. I'll look into the camera clipping through caves. Theres controls on the game page, but I'l try to get the keybind menu setup as fast as possible to allow players to look up (and change) controls there if desired.
Attacked a guard and got memed. I didn't know if I was dead or just knocked out so I kinda sat there for a minute pressing buttons. Good start so far I see you included a lot of content. The issues that stood out was the game consumes items when you click on it to see what it is, so maybe make it so you can select/view the item and then press E to use it. Also add text saying "you died" when get killed so you know you're dead
Game runs fine and looks cute. I tried streaming it for a friend and my CPU seemed to have pooped itself though, as the stream was apparently dropping frames nonstop. Despite that, it ran fine on my side of things. Will be playing it more later, looks promising!
Looks good, seems good, feels good, is good? Yyes!
Has some tomb raider vibes, if it had mouse controls, very interesting. Mad respect to the day and night cycle with NPCs going to sleep and all. It seems you're trying to build a really solid base, and I believe you have one. So, here are my suggestions:
Clouds/sky rotate too fast (might be intentional because of the fast day cycle, in this case try to mention it somewhere).
Hitboxes and enemy attacks feel broken? Work on them. I actually liked the attack and block system, even if the enemy attack animations need to be much more exaggerated.
I think you could mash all the menus (except system pause) into one, for much easier accessibility.
Needs a pickup prompt when near items or corpses with loot.
Careful with the pixel depth of textures.
Left-click to select/inspect/move items in the inventory, and right-click to use/equip them, please.
Try to find a more retro looking shader for the light.
.... I'm sorry but despite it saying to collect the Pomao plushies I'm not sure what I'm doing.
Was running around punching some pigs, then didn't know what to do and punched a guard (below a cliff?) and died. Maybe I missed it, any quests inside to guide me a bit?
yeah, with intro missing its probably hard to figure out. guy down in the hut has a bit you can talk to, giving you a quest to receive a broken map. only part of the current main quest starts by talking to the farmers. The Pomao plushies are just there to maybe incentivize looking around the map since theres not really any content apart from those two tiny quests.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad there weren't any major problems specific to the Linux build.
thank you for playing, I'll got these issues noted down to fixing

'll look into getting a linux version out, no promises tho ( also I can't test for linux, so if I manage to get one out, it might not work correctly)
Theres two Linux builds out now ( don't know which one is for your system), those are untested tho, so it might not work at all / be extra buggy.
Thank you!! I'll try it this weekend and leave some video feedback if I can. Looks super fun
Get it out for mac it's impossible to play on my shit laptop.
I can only build for mac on a mac, and I don't own one, so no mac version, sorry

Thank you for trying it out.

Never give up! You can make it!
Thank you for the response.
The combat is quite messy atm, you are correct, sometimes hitboxes get broken, and enemies don't give a very good feedback on whats happening.
I marked all these down for implementation, thank you again.
