I played the previous build before, so I already knew how to play. It seemed like I wasn't getting as strong equipment this time, but I still did not find the game hard, then again it's luck based.
I defeated both bosses. I thought the strategy for the second boss was going to be just getting more crits, but it was actually easy enough to just get more health, and I was sorted for the battle.
I also tried playing as the dwarf character, but he could never deal any damage, so I guess he is still not implemented.
Hmmmmmm, so first of all, the presentation and UI is pretty good.
So at first I wasn't sure what I was doing. As I clicked on things I eventually understood some of the mechanics. I noticed that the monsters were pretty weak, that I could get faith from them, and use that to raise my health, so I did that for a while. Then, I randomly prayed in an altar, summoned the bad guy and beat it.
So the demo for me consisted on learning the game, there was never really any challenge to overcome, I was just trying things and then it was over. So it's a bit hard to give any feedback really.
(BTW, I recorded myself playing it (without talking), so tell me if you want the footage.)
Thanks for playing. Yeah, seeing the video would be helpful. Would you say that if the systems were better balanced, the game would have been fun? Or does it feel like it would need more significamt changes to get there?
I'm not sure. Like, every time I saw a chest I opened it, every time I saw a monster I fought it, the battle is automatic, I always went for raising my faith. So yeah, since everything was so clear-cut, it wasn't super fun. If the balance in the game was tweaked, I don't know if I would've done something different, because I didn't have that problem in the first place. But well, I don't know what other viable strategies I could have done other than what I described.
Good and insightful video, you're playing how I imagined someone playing it ideally, reading the tooltips and curious about the clickable parts. Same as you I've ended up at the conclusion that there's no real options or threat in the game, which I hope to fix, now that all the main systems are implemented.
Took a bit to learn how the game works without a tutorial, I appreciate the lack of hand holding but others might be too confused to get into it. This demo is extremely polished, the visuals are great, and I am still having fun with whats here after learning the systems. Theres a lot you could do with this project so please continue devving it!
Obviously the art is cool. I like the responsiveness of the UI with the sound effects and little tweens. How everything has a little on click or hover. Also how organized it is with the center map to battle change.
Though if something can't be done it would be nice to get a response on that like a ping or something.
It will work if you run the "sudo xattr -cr Karapath.app/" in the terminal on it. Is that something you did not need to do in the previous builds before? Either way, I've uploaded a new build, which should only complain about being a non-approved source game, which opens if you "open anyway" through "security & privacy" settings.
>Is that something you did not need to do in the previous builds before? Sorry, I didn't mean to imply I've got it running on mac before, it was a PC. Thank's for the tips, I'll give it another try.
Not a game for me, i don't like gambling and don't like too much randomness in games.I felt like there weren't many decisions to me, just move and see the outcome. That said, the polish is great, I really liked that you can customize the palette to your taste and the game has lots of juice.

Oh, and here's the video:

Thanks again for playing and the video.

I liked this game before, but on a mac I can't run this mac build. 'Damaged'

I have no idea what I am doing, but visually it looks really nice.
Game looks good. Didn't encounter any bugs. Made it to stage 4. Had no idea what was happening or what I was doing at any point.
