I played the game, but it's too early in development to really say anything. So, just to make sure:
it will be possible to fail a trick and crash head first into the snow?
it will be possible to chain multiple tricks together to get even higher scores?
it will be possible to take off your snowboard and walk around? I'm asking because there's that part near the end of the game where you can get stuck and have to restart.
This could end up being pretty rad if you put in the work.
The steering feeling on point. Pulling of tricks needs more depth, right now it looks like you do a canned animation based on the stick direction, as compared to something like SSX where you pull off a trick and rotate at the same time (I'm not explaining it well, but I think you know what I mean). Turning in the air could be faster, or I'm just doing it wrong.
I'm working on a similar snowboarding-esque mechanic in a side project I'm working on, so seeing this gave me a bit of confidence in it.
This seems like a really nice start for a snowboarding game! I'd love to be able to do tricks and have finer control over the snowboard. It's been too long since I've played a good snowboarding game.
Edit: I didn't look at the game page and see there were controls listed. Managed to do some tricks. Nice! My best time was 1:00:53.
It seems to blend alright into each other, a bit static but thats alright. I don't know anything about Snowboarding, but I think there should be more Tricks then just spinning in a direction, shouldn't there?
You can't fail a Trick, and crash. You always spin back into the correct position, which sometimes looks really weird. You also apparently can only do so many tricks in one Jump, or can't combo every trick into another. i.e. a left Spin into a right one.
Theres a small bumpy part on the Track right after the first really big curve, feels off.
Thats about all I think, the Movement on the ground itself is smooth and nice, but a bit hard to tell if I'm accelerating/deccelerating/how fast I'm actually going, probably due to just a debug cube texture.
With proper Graphics, music, sound, effects, juice etc. I could see this being a Fun Game if you're into sports Games. But you really need to be able to crash if you ram into something, or fail a trick etc.
Not sure if its just a demo thing, but going for big air and doing tricks seems antithetical to going for a fast time. You certainly got the physics down though. It feels great to slide around which is particularly impressive for what appears to be a godot game.
There will be race events and trick events eventually and tricks will give you boost. This demo I was just trying to get the basic character controls down--still needs polishing.
Managed to get 52:41. Couldn't beat your score but had a decent amount of fun trying.
Tricks and such are limited but would be pretty cool once you add more in. never played any game in this genre before so Im not sure what your going for but it seems pretty fun, I always like speed.

Yes, I will tackle that shortly. I've been discussing with some friends how that will work from a technical standpoint.
Not sure if you mean multiple tricks in one jump or holding a combo across multiple jumps but both will be possible.
The next demo is November 4th and should have both of these features. However, I don't think getting off the snowboard will ever be a feature.
Hey. I played your game as part of a Demo Day stream. If you didn't catch the stream live, here's a link to the video:
You can see my other demo day 46 streams as well on my channel.

This was made in just two weeks, don't worry, there is plenty more to come.
Gave it another Go to try out the Tricks.

You've never played a SSX game? I... you... me... idk how to reply to that, I guess reporting your parents for depriving you is the only option.
