Love the idea, it gives me The Last Guardian vibes. The resetting to the start was a bit jarring though, and the xp collection sound was a bit "sharp" in contrast to the soft background music. Else it was a cute game with a good concept
This is a really interesting use of ML, I like how you can see the progress of the monster getting better and better at platforming, to the point where sometimes it would be ahead of me. good submission!
I like the concept, you can notice that the pet is getting better at platforming. The level is a bit repetitive though and the "grounded-check" for jumping is also true when you are touching a platofrm with your head. After the charmander evolved to charmaelon, it got stuck at the left side of the screen repeatedly. As I said, the gameplay could be more polished, I like the concept though. Good job!
It was interesting to see how your pet starts to get better and better. I got very excited when it evolved! :D I wish we could get the final XP on the top platform though. Also, I would personally prefer it for the controls to be more snappy and immediate. Good job!
Interesting idea, its quite rewarding to see the creature improve! Congrats!
It's a really cool idea, and great to see that your critter manages to make better and better jumps. However, the levels all feel a bit the same, and so after 1-2 of those the fun starts stalling (although the critter keeps getting better, you don't have those 'Oh, cool!' moments where you feel a sudden increase in skill from the critter). Maybe give it more actions to work on, and focus on learning one thing, then another, then combining them?
Really love the concept and would like to see this taken further, great job for a 1-week jam!
Simple to understand mechanic. I think it would be interesting to have some timed/moving platforms that may vary when the bird is redoing your movements. I also wanted some kind of reward for reaching the top and collecting all the xp coins, like "You collected all the coins! Great!" Movement controls were solid too.
This is a really cool approach to a machine learning based game. It was very fun to play for a few minutes. The presentation leaves a bit to be desired but overall it was super neat. I had a moment of "OH WOW, it's learning based on what I do". Really cool concept, would love to see something like this more fleshed out!
