Is this a Remix/Remake?

If so, please share what your starting 'ingredients' were in your new recipe.
I didn't use anything, but I used a plugin I was unfamiliar "BulletUpHell" by DarkPeace

Essentially, everything ecaroh said is spot on.  Needs a lot of work, but not a bad start.

At least he was able to navigate the coffin.  It never showed up on my screen, no matter what I did.  Also, there was a floating feather on the top-right corner of my screen the entire time.  Thank you to Cider for pointing out a trick to getting it on the screen.  I was finally able to navigate around to the perfect spot to collect my Pacman pills.  :)

Haha, glad you could see some value in it. I do like how it felt to move around the coffin. Thanks for playing!

Cool start to a space shooter.. or maybe just a space drifter? Good work on the 8-directional sprite rotation! Once i got used to the movement sensitivity I was able to actually steer it and collect some points with some control.

Since it's just a demo right now, I'd recommend setting a few parameters for the player like minimum/maximum positions so it's not possible to drift off screen at least. Then it's like a sandbox to learn the controls without accidentally going out of bounds as you learn them.

I'm really curious where you can take this idea further. The "space coffin" premise is really intriguing and creative. I don't think it's ever been done before!

Btw if you hold R down, you can get a cool effect with a wave of points!

Thank you for the praise! I really do enjoy the idea so far as well.

I do want to make a sort of isometric ship game with this movement, so I'll consider those additions you mentioned.

Thank you also for hosting!! <3 It was fun to learn new things with this jam.

Tip for other players: the itch.io window is small at least on my browser, so you have to use a bit of thrust and wait a few seconds, then the ship should enter the screen. You can then fly around on screen. Good effort, I hope to see more creations

Developer

Haha thank you! I wish I knew why the window is different sizes on different browsers. And how I could standardize that when exporting Godot projects.

Appreciate your kind words!

Hello again! Could you do me a HUGE favor and try this version of the game?

I just changed the settings and wanted to see if it fixed the browser issues. I'd love to know if the window is still too small. The window is super big, but it should show the ship now.

Thanks in advance, if you can just check it for me!

Looks good! The ship is on-screen for me now

Developer

thanks!
