How does your game represent Mode?
The main mechanic of the game revolves around switching modes to give you an advantage against your opponent. Building combos also pushes you into a super mode! Mode mode mode.

Fun and challenging top-down shooter that reminds me a bit of Ikaruga with the color changing mechanic. Only thing I would wish for is the ability to skip the dialogue at the start of levels. Having to wait through it each time after restarting takes time away from the action.
Really nice entry! Really crisp UI, I liked the aesthetic a lot. Great to a Godot 4.2 game in the wild too! Unfortunately I couldn't really play it well as a lefty, but I got the gist of what you were going for, I think. Really felt polished from what I could get through! Nice job.
Cool game! I like how the movement changes slightly between different modes, and that there is a significant difference when fighting against the colors you're weak against. There's definitely a high skill ceiling with this game and capitalizing on the special moves of the different modes is a good challenge.
All around a great game. I practically enjoyed every part of this game! Well, narrator talks maybe a little too much ;) but I can tell a lot of thought and care went into making this game. From the synergy/balance of the different modes, to the additional tips if you linger in the tutorial - I'm seriously impressed! Nice game :D
Yeah, he's a bit wordy. I added a skip in the dev version ;)
Glad you liked it!
Fantastic job here! Love the visuals, quite unique and eye grabbing, they're simple yet with a lot of effective detail and are very enjoyable to look at. The game play is also a lot of fun, the intensity in switching modes and the shooting mechanics are superb. Great work!
Thanks for playing!
This is a fun game, shooting feels great and the blue>red>green mechanic works really well
I do feel like there's too much talking between waves-it can be a lot of down time when replaying levels
also its hard to see what's happening when bumping into enemies because of screen shake
still its fast simple fun, good work!
I feel ya on the dialogue, I've got a skip function all ready to go in the dev build. The screen shake also has an adjustable cap put on it now. Thanks for playing!
AHHH oh no I forgot to comment!!!!! Probably because I'm still stuck on level 4 haha. I had a power outage and my game went with it. :'3
This game has a lot of what I like to call mechanical symmetry, where different applications of the same idea in different forms suit similar purposes. For instance, Red beats Green not only because Red is fast enough to evade its line of sight, but it can also destroy a lot of Greens if you use its special because it's fast. In other words, the damage that each countercolor does might be higher, but they are hard counters in a lot of other ways than just in numbers. The mechanics are super clever, and are clearly the result of someone who thought it through and knows what they're doing. The game is hard as fuck though lmao, but I really respect it, it totally nails the prompt in a super competent way.
I also like the story presented in it, and the accompanying dialogue. The presentation in its audio/visual effects are great and really sell the vibe the game is trying to communicate. I'm gonna beat this game for sure and get back to you when I do!!!!
Sorry for making it so hard! I'm definitely used to this type of game so it's hard to me to balance the gameplay. Definitely got a lot out of watching you play it! If you hold off til after the jam I've got a version lined up that keeps saves so you won't be in danger of losing your progress again. Thanks for playing!
Super fun top down shooter, the use of the RPS mechanic is really clever
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!
