Super impressive game! The art style is fantastic, the gameplay was simple but very enjoyable. I really liked this game! Awesome job!

I had the same bug where some enemies moved in real-time, but it wasn't too bad. Other than that, the game is amazing! I love the art style particularly, simple but its really cool! I think it could've used some music tho also

Developer

Thats strange, Ive only had you and one other person have this bug. Glad you like the art and yea music would be nice but Im not good at making it fast!

Wow, impressive amount of content for such a short amount of time! I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but playing the 64bit version on Windows, some of the enemies moved only when I moved, turn-based, others moved in real-time?

If this was intended and not a bug...The mix of both turn-based and Real-time might be interesting, like  Nova-111 does it, but then which enemies are turn based and which are real-time should be differentiated clearly and communicated well to the player I think. Here it felt unfair when I expected a type of enemy to have similar behaviour as one I encountered before, and they ended up acting totally erratically instead.

Still, the art style is full of nostalgia and you've got a pretty decent retro roguelike going, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thats a very odd bug, sorry that happened and made the game unfair. I wasnt going for the Nova 111 style and i havent heard anyone else have that bug. Im glad you liked the aesthetics

You managed to make a pretty complete roguelike with a pleasing art style in a short time. Nice.

Developer

Thank you, hope you had fun playing it :)

A fun little game! It vibrated with a lot of nostalgia :D

I really like the turn-based movement and gameplay that were quite straight-forward.

The game can be a bit hard since enemies chase you between screens, but I had a blast!

Cheers and congrats on the game :)

Great game! Simple graphics and simple goals. Fit the theme nicely.  A real nostalgic experience :)

Thank you in so glad you like it :)

Really solid old school graphics enjoyed the concept. With some more balancing of the game, this has a lot of potentials to become a full game, if you decide to continue working on it.

Developer

Thank you that's very kind of you !

Interesting game! I enjoyed the mechanics and the turn based nature of the game. I went for a similar "less health = more hp" route with my game. I'm usually not a big fan of turn based games, but this one was really fun for me. I enjoyed the old school graphics and the simple sound design.

If you wanted to improve, I suggest modifying the random generation of the maps. Level 2 was super long for me, level 3 and 4 then both had me walk into one room off the spawn then into one other room to leave without fighting any enemies. The game also crashed when I reached the shop screen. I also took some cheap hits in doorways when I didn't realize an enemy was coming through, some sort of indicator one is coming or just not having them spawn like that if the room they're coming from is unexplored could help a lot. Those changes plus some music would make a phenomenal game.

Check out my game if you get a chance!

Thanks for the great feedback glad you enjoyed it. Did you not get any enemies in levels 3 and 4?

Submitted

No, unfortunately not, I just found a room with a key then the exit immediately afterword

Awesome game! I really liked the artstyle and gameplay, even if I was a bit confused as to how combat works. Nice Job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm sorry the combat was confusing, was here anything in particular that didnt make sense?

Submitted(+1)

Thanks for replying! I didn't quite understand why i attacked the enemy or when they attacked me when i was standing in the grid next to them.

Developer(+1)

Ahhh okay, you have to be adjacent to hit them but if you're 1 square away and move adjacent its then their turn and they attack you. If you've played crypt of the necrodancer its the same rules. I should explain it in the tutorial better!

Submitted(+1)

That makes sense! Thanks for the explanation!

The game is pretty fun! I really enjoy this type of combat (enemies move only when you do) and its simplicity.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
