A fun platformer with a great story behind it! :)
thanks for playing! :)
Cool look, sort of reminded me of Limbo.
I actually took inspiration from limbo and inside form playdeadStudios! Thanks for playing!
I really liked the story, but it would've been cool if it was implemented into the game itself in some way, otherwise it's just a simple platformer with a story put on top, and on the last level it was hard to read the text. But I really liked the ambient, the difficulty and the game overall was pretty nice!
thanks heaps! I agree with everything you said and am working on some fixes! Thanks again for playing the game!
its a great platformer but i missed the end text i falled just down
Thanks so much! The last level was pretty hard to read... im working on a fix
It’s a great game! The art style is good but a bit unpolished at some things (trail of the player ), the design is ok, because it’s a bit weird that I’ve to walk and then there’s text how to walk. Also it’s a bit frustrating that I’ve to start completly from the beginning when I die, so add little checkpoints. Also you could try tell story with art and design. The sound fits pretty good to the simplistic art. What I didn’t liked that you stick to the walls, is it a friction issue or is this intentional?
Good job, guys!
Thank you for the feedback! All of these issues are definitely there and i will be trying to fix them asap! As for the getting stuck to walls many people have reported that and its just an issue with friction... Thanks again for playing and leaving feedback!
The game was absolutely great and deserves more attention. The art was very "sad" as if you were alone, along with the moody music. As others have said, you can stick to walls because of the friction issue, but besides that 10/10!
thanks heaps for the kind words! The friction issue is definitely there and I am working on a fix! Thanks again for playing! :)
Awesome job. The movement speed and jump worked well and the monochrome art style with the glowing white was good. I feel like the camera was in too close. It cut off the platforms underneath when I jumped and I couldn't read all of the story because the tops were cut off. I liked the subtle music. Overall, great job!
Thank you so much! I agree with the camera issues and am working on a camera controller for later versions!
Really solid game for a first jam! Loved the atmosphere. The spikes on level 2 were a killer but finally got the rhythm. My only complaint was getting stuck on the walls an platforms during a jump. I think it would have felt smoother as a friction less material, but overall great game!
Thanks so much. I agree with the fact that the spikes were a bit brutal and the friction thing! Loving the feedback!
Nice game. My feedback -
Art Style - I love the monochrome dark (limbo style) colour
Music - fits the game (maybe the pops on jump should be a tad louder)
Controls - The jump mechanic maybe needs some gravity tweaks to make it more 'jumpy'
Trail effects - The white trail behind the player feels abit off. I would have put a glow instead of a trail.
Overall - quite pleasant to play. Good game. Well done!
Check mine if you feel like :)
Thanks so much! I agree with all your feedback and will defiantly change the jump and trail effects! Ill play your game :)
I Love the game. I am so glad that you made such a good story. I would love It if you played my game.
Thanks bro! I going to try your game!
As for your first ever completed on time entry well done.
Game was interesting, movement was ok (but I think you have used transform.psition
to move the player. In future projects just a tip from me you can use rigidbody.velocity
it's much better :D ) I liked the sounds and music but I think it would be the best if gameplay could tell
the story rather than the text. But still really good entry Good luck with this entry and with any other in the future.
Thanks a lot bro! The feedback on the movement is great, i never knew to do that! (im for sure gonna use that in my next game!) Love the feedback! Its really encouraging :D
If anyone wants to speedrun it i will be making a leaderboard on the game page... there is no timer just use one on your phone or on the computer and take a picture and screenshot it! (then put it in the comments or rating)
Really nice athmosphere! I really liked the visuals and sounds of the game. Just the Camera and Player Movement was a little bit weird.
Thanks so much! I also think that the camera should have been a little different, it felt kind of weird. Glad you liked it and thanks for playing! :D
Brilliant, great atmosphere with so little.
I'm not usually a reader but I read every bit up to my rage quit on level 2 :)
Thanks, i went with minimal atmosphere! Also its a really rage-inducing game... Love the feedback!
Awesome gameplay!
Thanks so much bro! :)
(stonks!)
Great work!It looks like it was inspired by Thomas was alone. I really like it. The only thing is that the double jump feels like sometimes it isn't working. But I loved the game :)
Thanks heaps for the feedback! The double jump did have some issues and im working on fixing them! :)
really great platforming controls you got the weight just right! in my opinion the platforming challanges got quite repetetive. also is the theme explained through the story? because the story didnt grip me but that is just me. really enjoyed my time!
Awesome feedback! I defiantly agree that the story was maybe a little to squished into small spaces, which made it not very griping or easy to read! As for the repetitive obstacles i think i may just make each level go in a different direction (for example the last level the player goes down and the first level the player does basic platforming) Thanks again for the feedback, its all really helpful!
Amazing work, Luak! Really enjoyed this entry! It ran really smoothly and everything felt in the right place.
One of the standouts for me was the art style! I loved the grayscale, hand-drawn styled background accompanied by the pixelated character, and the font you chose really went with the game!
I also really loved the music, although it was a bit quiet. Again, it tied in with the concept and adventure aspects of the game! :D
I agree with the two major things RedHeadBros had mentioned in their review, but still, this was an awesome experience and I really enjoyed playing it! Thanks for making it, Luak! :D
Thanks for reviewing! I also think what redHeadBros said is correct. Thanks for playing it! :D
No worries, Luak! :D
Overall, your game was pretty bloody fantastic. Platforming felt good (though a bit floaty), and visually it looked pretty spectacular.
I have two gripes: one, your story didn't grab me. I read a few of the dialogue lines at the start, but when the text for me to read was larger than the screen itself, I phased out and just walked past it, it wasn't worth the effort of reading it.
Two: in the falling section with the spikes, there were times where I couldn't see which platform beneath me I was supposed to jump to next - I was on the lowest platform that didn't have spikes on it, and I couldn't see any way downward. I'd recommend either making the screen taller for this section, or positioning the camera below the player during this part.
Overall, once again, game's flipping fantastic. Smooth as butter.
Thank you SOOOO much for the feedback! I defiantly agree with those two major things, the story issue is a problem, Im thinking about making the text shorter and more stretched out! Thanks again for the awesome feedback!
I love the neon feel to the character, and the trail. The platforming was surprisingly difficult, especially when trying to read the text on screen
Thanks so much for the feedback, some of my friends said that too... is there any specific aspects of the platformer that were very difficult?
I think the fact that the platforms you were trying to land on were relatively small made it difficult. It made it feel like you were going to overshoot. That, and having a jump that was barely strong enough (on its own, without the double jump) to get you there made it feel like each jump was life threatening.
i totally agree! Thanks again for the feedback!
