this is just awesome, love the mechanics, love the visuals, the only things i miss is a bossfight, 5/5 would play again <3

Hi .. as promised I played and rated your game. Now the review :)
What I loved
- UI / Pause - I love that you can change res option and the volume/fx slider are there
- The concept is cool .. binding of isaac style which is a winner
- Enemy follow is also very good , not too intrusive, looks natural 'stalking'
- Colours / pallette and ambience are really nice
What I would improve (in my opinion)
- Background and sprites have a different style. The background is linear and clean and the spreites are doodle style
- I would make the player squisher leaving particles behind him when he moves
- When player is hit, I would make a visual key - change of colour , a sound .. your choice
- Personal opinion - For game jams I would do a Webgl / browser build. There are over 1000 games and people might be put off with the download sequence.

Great game! It deserves more ratings! I really liked the strange and wacky designs of the enemies, and the interface and options were really user friendly! Small little effects like the enemy bodies, the trail you leave behind you, the characters color and design changing, and the really subtle lighting were really effective and it was fun to look at a battlefield after you defeated the enemies! One of the best I've played this jam, and I hope more play it!
I really liked this game, it reminded me of Binding of Isaac. The camera also gave me hotline miami vibes. Good job!
I totally enjoyed this!!! The graphics were great, and the music reminded me of Doom Eternal but slightly less metal lol - fantastic job! The one thing that I'd say is that the character / enemy graphics feel like they're a bit of a different style than the rest of the graphics, but thats no major gripe. Great job!

Enjoyably stylish presentation of the characters more defensive/damaging states, in a pretty smooth playing shooter. Some parts of the experience felt a bit awkward though because of the enemy design.
- Favorite part was the strong presentation of your state, the solid rock vs spikes at the extreme ends of defense/attack, and the progressive colors/particles inbetween, kept you aware of it all.
Also think the UI for the defense/attack stat and shield was very clear and concise which was nice.
The general speed and shooting felt comfortable as you play, and I think the permanence of enemies when they died worked well here. I was happy to have completed the game.
- I'm not sure about those birds. It felt like the only way to tackle them was have full shield and wait for them to hit you, because even full attack I couldn't kill them shooting them the whole time before they killed me-except a couple rare times that seemed random so I couldn't tell if it was possible or not. This meant the hallway full of them was just a very slow back and forth take damage, wait to heal, take damage, wait to heal, for that length.
The snails are a nice change of pace, but because it's hard to tell how much damage you've dealt, combined with their 'death' looking the same as while alive, it sometimes made them awkward to battle. Especially in the entrance full of them, that I failed a few times, I couldn't tell if I killed them or not and they popped up and sneaked a shot at me when I thought I was safe.
It may change the pacing a bit, but I think some permanence to you taking damage would be nice, if the bar shrunk so you had max 9/9, then 8/8, etc, within a level and reset the next stage, that way you couldn't get comfortable with the shield up, etc, and would make each contained level more intense.
Nice game! I like that you included the controls in the games world for the player to find!
I thought it was a bit easy, though, 7 Attack/3 Defense seemed to be a sweet spot (at least for me!).
One thing I would improve is enemy positioning. In the third room, I got attacked and instantly killed (I was all out on damage) by the rabbit enemy as soon as the scene loaded.
Honestley, just awesome. I loved the art, the music, the mechanics. I think the trail that you leave is really cool.
Nice drawings! i really like the defense mode/attack mode mechanic. I played in full attack mode as much as possible ;p
That was awesome! The enemy variety was great,I personally thought the Snail was the best ;), and the levels were challenging. Great work, keep it up.

Wow! This game consept is really inovative, I like the risk reward you have here, and the enemies are great, they force you to switch between defensive and ofensive.
