great game with really cool controls using only one button but the boss killed me like 30 times so that was very hard but this is a great entry
On eof the best games of the Jam, very original, well executed, and fun
I've always seen your game everywhere whenever I checked some other submissions, Anyway, I finnaly tried it... it looks really nice, and I checked litterally everything :). My opinon would be to reverse the actions(jump = space x1, attack = space x2) , cause It took me some time to adapt to it...
I really love the jump animation, idk it just gives the player kind of a ninja fell which gives of like that the game is a mix of like ninja Aikido and karate, which is by the way so awesome.
I think there is a lot of room for expanding the game as well (you could add like different throwing weapons , more bossfights...).
I'm in love with this game, especially bossfights, which I thought couldn't be done with only one button, well I was so wrong, This game is freaking awesome, and you should probably continue working on it.
Hello. There is an alternate input option in the settings, although it doesn't work that well.
Loved this game! Both boss fights are awesome. Love how you progress from one to the other. Very good job!
By far my favourite game for this jam. I would love to see this idea improved upon. My only complaint is the UI buttons and under floor don't look great but aside from that this game is amazing.
Can you explain how you got the boss to detect incoming attacks as I'm really interested as I've never managed to make fighting game ai despite how many times I've tried.
Also could you please try my game?https://itch.io/jam/boundless-game-jam/rate/1103809
hi, glad this was enjoyable :) The boss AI works by checking your fireballs position, and its height. If it's above the boss, it probably wont move. if it's about to hit him, though, he chooses between deflecting and jumping. It was easy to check positions since they stay in the same x position constantly. Also yes i'll check out your game.
Simple and easy to use control! The animations/artwork were well done and you did a lot with very little. A few things to note: some sections of levels seemed a little too punishing, the AI opponent can also throw a projectile mid flight that cannot be evaded. Aside from those 2 things, absolute wonderful job!
I had a ton of fun, it's a great game, I love the art, the music and the sounds, the concept was clever, good job!
thats cool game
Great game, love it!
This was pretty fun! I couldn't finish it because my reflexes are too slow, but the mechanics are cool! Nice work!
Amazing game! My only complaints are that the final boss was a bit iffy in execution, and you can't make up your mind whether this game is about karate or aikido :
super fun! good job
Great job on this game. It is one of my favorites that I have played so far from the jam.
Man, this was a really cool game. Super fun, challenging, and great that you have a couple lives, because it doesn't feel overwhelming. Addictive!
I like your game and the fight with the boss
Amazing art style, and nice usage of just one button. It was fun to play. Although boss fight was a bit too challenging but I enjoyed it, good job!
Nice little fighting runner and very polished for one week :D
Fun game, great boss fights, but scaling pixel art is... eh
too lazy lol
I like how this game has different game modes + the ability to change of visuals style :D The game is really fun and it fits the theme very well :) Good job!
Nice idea. I loved the music and the visuals. The gameplay took me a while to get used and it can be annoying to lose when sometimes it is not my fault but I like games like this. Great job overall!
