How does your game fit the theme?
This game suits the theme by:

1. Allowing the players to immerse themselves in an underwater realm surrounded by schools of fish through Augmented Reality. This creates an incredibly captivating sensation of personally diving into the ocean's depths!

2. The goal of the game is "Diving Deeper" into the ocean, all while avoiding the diver robots. Progress is measured by the depth reached in meters, indicated at the top, with the visual environment growing darker as players plunge deeper. The gradual darkening of the environment as players descend further effectively conveys the concept of oceanic depths.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
- The Design and Coding of the game were done by me.
- The Assets were sourced from the Unity Asset Store for free.

I like how you went for a different approach going with AR i think that is really cool. the game is really good since it was only made in 2 days. i am impressed.

Developer

Hey thanks! Glad you liked the concept of diving with AR since this was an experience rather than a proper game.

Also, thanks again for the 20th rating within the time!!

Wow, AR. So Cool Definitely fit the theme

Developer

Thanks, buddy!

Nice graphics, but I don't think AR is needed here. Otherwise great game, there aren't many good android games on this jam

Developer

Hey, thanks! I didn't have the time to add all the features to make this a proper game. It was intended as a deep diving game in AR where you travel around with fishes!

Submitted(+1)

I appreciate the effort, especially considering the incredibly short development time. The visuals are appealing, but the game can be laggy, and the inclusion of AR feels a bit unnecessary. Keep in mind that this was created in just two days, so there's potential for improvement!

I'm planning to make a proper game with the visuals of Submerged down the line :D

I really like the visuals, it's fun but a bit laggy and I think the AR is unnecessary,

Developer

Well, this was more of an experiment on the theme since I had different plans initially (by adding shooting mechanics). Thanks tho.

The AR concept is pretty creative and I kinda liked the feeling that the game gave, but I missed a little some challenge or other interactions that could give me more reasons to play it

Developer(+1)

Thanks! That's the plan. This was more of a small 2 day experiment (experience game) and I had to discard a LOT of the mechanics (like shooting etc) which were already done.

I'm not sure AR adds anything to the experience besides some environment texture. The submersible doesn't move around the space, it only changes direction. I was able to cheese the game by just heading straight down. Made it to 3000 metres before giving up and letting a robot squash me.

I'll give you full credit for actually implementing AR into the project, and you picked some cool visual assets, but the experience wasn't a lot of fun.

Developer

Thanks for the detailed review. This was more of a small 2 day experiment (experience game) and I had to discard a LOT of the mechanics (like shooting etc.) that were already done in order to suit the theme.
The submersion actually is inverse, like the world around you moves up and down! I know, not the best mechanics and looks weird as well.

But again, I really wanted to test how underwater looks in this game which was the main motive. Planning to build a full-fledged version - proper game soon (after planning it out anyways :P)!

P.S. You were close, 5000m was the max depth visually, not that I did have time to code the rest of it tho :(

couldnt play it unfortunately but looking at the images and the fact that its AR i would say that this is amazing great work!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks! There a LOT left to be done :D

Submitted(+1)

wow. Impressive ❤️  got to like 500 metres with no trouble. Felt the bots were east to avoid. Might have been cool to have some things to collect on the way. Like stars or tresure? Would have gave the game more focus. Can see potential for this and was not like any game I've played before. You nailed the theme. Well done!!!

Developer

Thanks for playing! You can go up to 5,000 m deep at which point it nearly becomes black!

Being made in 2 days, I did have to discard the shooting mechanics among others since that didn't suit well with the theme. So, this ended up being more of an experimental game on how the theme can be made in AR!!

Really interesting and original approach to theme.

Sometimes controls seems bugged, enemies are hard to avoid or they don't attack.

But it's awesome to make this in few days

Developer

Thanks for playing :D

AR can be laggy on lower-end or older devices so I believe that could be the cause of buggy gameplay controls.

Nevertheless, will def improve on this after the jam!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the design and the idea, but It wasn't that fun, I had some issues with the controls and the robots didn't attacked me, unless if I didn't move at all. With some adjustments it will be awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I didn't have time to make it more fun, unfortunately (made in 2 days).

The robots are slow so that's why it might've been like that. I'll try to fix if allowed in this jam.

This was more of a slow-diving experimental game on how the theme can be made in AR!!

I saw you did it in only 2 days. I'm impressed. Really beautiful even if it need some fix. I really like your game !

Developer

Thanks!! Glad you liked it :D

I'll give you full marks for innovation, but other than that I felt like the game wasn't really fun. The controls were very bugged on my phone, and I had a hard time avoiding the enemies. Big up to you for making it in two days though !

Developer

Hey, thanks!! I had to make the controls this way to suit the diving deeper theme, unfortunately! In the v1 it was more of an underwater shooting game :D

AR can be laggy on lower-end or older devices so I believe that could be the cause of buggy gameplay.

Thanks as this was more of an experimental game on how the theme can be made in AR!!
