Hey!
This is really nostalgic.
I managed to beat it in 10 minutes so I think 45 minutes plus was a little generous! :P
But its good! It handles smooth, works well. I didn't encounter any bugs!
Nice job!

How does your game fit the theme?
What's behind the door? Another universe, with increasing difficulty and new enemies
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code was written by me, the assets (and sounds) are from: https://kenney.nl/assets/space-shooter-redux

Oh, this remind me how "shoot'em up" games on Sega made me want to throw the gamepad in the TV :) Beautiful work!
Very slight bugs which are nothing unusual with a week of preparation ^^
Otherwise really nice I think!
Small clarification: I really like splashart!
While I didn't submit a game, I did take on the role of composing the music for my team's entry:

If you find yourself with some time and curiosity, feel free to take a look ^w^! Congratulations!
I had fun with this game however it did come with one bug that weighed down the experience a little bit. Whenever you hit the first asteroid/ship when starting up a level after dying there's this huge lag spike that 9 times out of 10 flung me into another asteroid and since it's 1 hit death, I had to try each level like 5 times to get a run where I didn't die immediately. The controls were very fluid and easy to understand which is great. The theme didn't stand out to me while playing the game though, I had to read the "How does your game fit the theme" to grasp where it fits in. Overall though I liked the variation in difficulty between the levels and the boss was fun too. Overall it's a 7/10, If the bug was fixed it'd be a 9 and the lost point is for theming. Great Job!
I really wanted to mention how much I enjoyed it. Just wanted to express that in a different way.
Fun twist on asteroids, especially with the momentum! Clicking the mouse so much hurt my finger after a while lol
Fun game, I played it a lot! I easily reach the final boss, but I can't beat it.
I like the movment, it's a bit tricky at start, but once you get used to it you can travel really fast. It demand some skill from the player it's fun to learn how to use it correctly.
The fire rate is quite high, I would prefer to keep the mouse button pressed with automatic fire instead of having to constantly click.
I like the fact that the space ship change color each run, is a small detail but I liked it.
In the end is a solid submission, very fun to play again and again!
The game mechanics are extremely awesome! It was fun to play, and the movement confused me a little bit, but after getting used to them it was a great touch, and it made the game's gravity feel more alive! Really good job on this, keep up the great work!
I like the game mechanics; they give a sense of being in space. The graphics are simple and clean. Great game!
Definitely an extremely chaotic game, although there is always a risk with chaos. This personally reminds me of one of my earlier game jams which was also a space shooter and similarly had extremely slippery controls. I think that they can make a game really intense but there is a really delicate balance between out of control and can't stop the action. Personally, this game veers a bit more for the out of control and I found myself more often than not trying to stay still in one spot.
However, I also really enjoyed the use of different obstacles and introducing them over time. Meteors especially and the fact that shooting them makes them divide actually makes you think twice whether you can just dodge the meteor instead. The ships flying all across the screen also made it an attention sucking experience.
Good job and good luck for this game jam!
Fun game. I like how there's not friction, it makes the controls challenging but interesting.
Although I don't know if this is intended but the size of the arena can be increased or decreased by changing the size of the window.
3430 points of fun, yeaaah)
Controls are somewhat lacking tho, imo need more plasticity.
oh oh oh , now thats an intersting take on space shooter lol. cant imagine how chaotic it would be if worked on for longer. great work
