Good game, enjoyed jrpg fighting style, however fights felt a little too easy
Good Game! Really fits the theme well. The peek and listen mechanics are a good addition.Though I couldn't find any real use for the listen mechanic(maybe I am missing something). I would have loved some more audio design to make it more eerie and haunted type. But overall a really good game buddy.

Nice game! I like the visuals, I enjoy the story and the combat system is great. I found that it only made sense to use items in combat or physical damage and it would be nice to have some variety with that. Good job!
I really enjoyed the listening and peaking mechanic! It fits the theme really well and isn't something I've seen in a lot of the other submissions. Cool game!
The art is really nice, I really appreciated the effort to draw the characters in 2d, I think it gave them much personality. The combat system is alright, for a game jam submission.
The problem is that I got a bit lost at some point as I just couldn't interact a all in the rooms with the dude with the hood and the rest of the rooms were empty. Also, was the shop missing? or had I just not unlocked it yet?

Some fun stuff in here for sure. The art style was cool. The concept was great. But I wasn't really sure what was going on in the combats. I would've liked some visual feedback, or audible feedback, to know what was happening. It just sort of told me what happened. And I wasn't sure what to do other than just randomly pick a door. Did someone comment below that you can listen at the door? I didn't see that option when playing.
It's got some potential for sure though.

Hi, thanks for playing! Ngl the time crunch definitely got to me on the battling part. We plan to add some sort of feedback on the attacks after the jam voting is over. There should have been a listen button that pops up beside the peek button, but I assume it’s another UI scaling issue 😭. We appreciate the feedback and again thanks so much for playing!
Great game, the idea is very interesting and I like that you can attack in different ways. But it seemed like the UI doesn't scale with screen size.

Really fun game, loved the idea! The sounddesign and artstyle really added to the experience. I would maybe look into some quality of life aspects like the positioning of the UI elements. But otherwise great game!

I feel like I'm missing something
Graphics are amazing, especially the characters, love your style! But I don't understand the gameplay, possibly because I'm missing something. How do you go inside a door? I walk towards it, press Peek, hold LMB, and then either wait till enemy engages in a fight, or just... wait? Maybe there's some control to enter the door that I don't know about? Tell me if that's the case, I am really curious

Thank you so much! Sorry about the confusion, we had planned to create a how to play screen but time constraints got to us. When youve listened and peeked, made sure its safe, you just click on the door rather than a button. LMAO 😳 Thank you for taking the time to play!

Loved the idea. I definitely flinched the first time I saw an enemy coming towards me, hahaha. The sound design was really nice, and it allowed for some good immersion! Really like the drawings, too.
I had to reset the game once because I tried talking to an enemy and the game just stayed there. I don’t know if maybe I just didn’t know how to make it continue.

I like the idea, and I liked the style of the conversation. The doors where too dark on my monitor, I could barely see them.
