How does your game fit the theme?
it is a calm chill exploration game, until you open the final door, and then you are met with a massive storm of enemies until you finally beat the game (the original idea was to have it literally raining slimes, but the slimes kind of evolved into something else and the rain didn't end up getting added in the end)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. all of the assets were made by me during this week period. I didn't use any of my prior creations or anything from online. I wrote 100% of the code myself. I didn't get to adding audio at all in the end because its one of my weakpoints and I kept putting it off.

Really enjoyable game!  The animations, especially the shinobi's sheath, were really cool. I found the crafting a bit underwhelming since the best items came from treasure chests, but overall, it was a fun experience. I'd love to see more updates in the future!

Developer

glad you had fun! I may or may not work on it again, but If I do Ill make sure to keep it free and html accessible. thanks for the playthrough!

Thats really impressive putting that together in one week! Well done, you should keep expanding the game and add more to it!

Developer

I am actually working on that right now! well kind of. I tried to keep this project well organized, but by the end its filesystems were a bit jumbled to say the least. So I'm currently working on another game with very similar features, and a better organization system!

I am amazed that you managed to create so much in the 7 days. The sheat animation of lesser shinobi is cool. The crafting was not really useful since the best items came from treasure chests. I had fun, but I didn't spot the boss.

Developer

yeah, the crafting tree and the boss were cut because of time. the energy balls that the pillars shoot were originally going to be a boss attack, but they got repurposed at the last second. thanks for playing the game!

I like the world and enemies, and also the sword and bow feel great to use! Sound would have been nice, and there is a bug where when doing down some areas, like a bridge, you would get stuck and need to jump to move ahead. Apart from that I really enjoyed the game and would play again!

Developer

glad you liked the game! and yeah, the bridges hitbox is wacky. fun fact, its actually a cylinder turned on its side and scaled weird, so it extends far below and around the bridge lol

I can't see anything in the cave where you can mine, maybe you could add some natural light? Had fun though!

Developer

yeah the area is rather dark. glad you enjoyed it though!

Love how it feels like Minecraft skylands (I'm assuming it was an inspiration?). I had some trouble with the controls, but overall it was fun.

Developer(+1)

yes, skyblock was a big inspiration :)

Nice game. The audio is missing a lot, it make the world fill empty.

The bow and sword was well animated. The experience was relaxing.  It lack a bit of challenge, as with your bow you can defeat the enemies from far.

Good work. Keep it up.

Developer

yes the audio is a big void, would recommend putting some good music on if you play it for any amount of time. as for the bow, I didn't really want to make the game super difficult as it is already takes a good second to reach the boss room. since I don't have a good checkpoint system, I was hoping people would have a better chance of getting that far before quitting.

and thank you!
