This is super chill and refreshing. A nice slow but thoughtful experience! This really captures the calm of live before a major change like university or moving out from your home town.

Amazing take on the theme and I really like the multiple dialogue options to choose from.

Great job! :)

Thank you. That's what I was aiming for :)

Very Cool!

Whoa, very creative take on the theme. I think we can all relate to it. There's no storm more uncertain and terrifying in life than starting a new grade or a new job, in my opinion.

Developer

Thanks. I'm touched how many people are trying out my game. I need to get out and and play more of yours <3

I really like this story, I think it perfectly conveys the emotions felt before starting a new chapter of life. Great work!

Simple and neat. Well done for the dialogue. Nice work!

Sweet and relatable game with an interesting concept. A few dialogue bugs, but overall, a charming experience. Impressive effort for the jam, especially given the depth of the story!

Aw this is such a sweet game. Great job!

Developer

Thank you.

Interesting concept. I might have run into a bug where one of my dialogue choices didn't appear as it seemed the friend just responded as if I picked something.

Developer

Interesting. Do you remember what the friend said?

Submitted(+1)

Sorry, no. I think it was right before talking about the major though, but I can't be certain. Other than that, everything appeared to be working properly.

Thanks. As I explained in another comment, I had to set up the dialog and choices in a clunky way. I could have accidently set a variable so that it skipped too far ahead in the dialog. I'll have to see if I can trigger any errors at some point so I can fix them post jam.

As someone who just moved in a dorm in a different state for my master's degree, this was right on point. Thank you for this game! Great job :D

Developer

Thanks. Glad you related to it. I tried to give the answers a broad enough range that they could apply to anyone playing. I hope you found that. (I also originally wanted to have a wider range of characters so the player could pick someone who looked like them if desired, but that didn't happen.)

Oof, good work in the jam period throwing this together. :)

Thank you. I had a few more questions I wanted to add in like asking if you missed your old high school classmates and what your major was, but I'm still trying to figure out how to get Yarn to work in Gdevelop if there's more than one choice menu, so I had to derive a much slower clunkier means of displaying dialog and choices,

A cool little game about a dude being friend zoned.

Developer

Looks like I should have made more edits to the friend's design. She's supposed be a short haired girl. I had a hard time finding CC pixelart characters that fit the design of the room, so I ended up deciding to edit out the shoulder pads and slightly lengthened the hair of the hero character from the same group as the main girl, since the hero's big blue eyes almost looked feminine as was. I debated adding a bright pink hairclip and probably will when the jam is over.

Glad you enjoyed the game.
