It reminds me of Knights & Merchants, which is my childhood game! Was it an inspiration? Really great game! ❤

How does your game fit the theme?
You have to build a village on an Island. The weather is nice for a couple of seasons (the calm before the storm) and then electric hell breaks loose with lightning coming down from the sky.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We took some audio sfx from the net, my mate is preparing the credits list to put into the updated description before the jam ends :P

I join the comments below, incredible work for 7 days. The problems are also described below, so I won't repeat myself, the only thing I will add is that it may be worth redoing the Lightning Rods sound, because the constant buzzing is annoying. Amazing job!
Real well done city builder game. Doing all that in such a short time is impressive!! Tho it's always hard for me to understand those, so a tutorial would always have been nice cause I got lost on what to do and wait.
Some things that bugged me is that I couldn't destroy building? As also when still being in build mode and click on a card let me place a building so that was a bit annoying too.
Overall a real good game with lot of potential!
Super ambitious but really cute survival city builder. I feel like I sort of soft locked myself on my first run through because I built a lightning rod without the other buildings, a bit of a progression system that makes sure you have iron income first would be a nice touch. The UI and controls can definitely use a bit of work, I built a few houses accidentally just because I wanted to build roads! All in all impressive submission to deliver in a week long jam!
Looks like a good base for city builder. I've had some trouble to learn how to place the building though. Good effort!
First of all I enjoy village builders so I appreciate your attemt to make one in such a short time period. However, I didn't enjoy much playing this one, unfortunately. First of all the ui... like it shows 0/15 villagers all the time and when you build something you need to cancel building before you choose something else because game doesn't register mouse position on UI... Then the AI of the villagers... like i have so much wood but 0 food and they don't care. The island is empty and doesn't actually have resources, apparently they appear from thin air. Not sure if the story progresses, but if you continue working on it after the jam, i think you can make a good and fun game from this basis!
Great base for a city builder. The graphics are good and the mechanics are solid. I had trouble with roads not placing and misplacing buildings when selecting them. Also managed to place houses in the ocean. Would love to play again in the future.
Wow, this is incredible for having been made in a week. It took me a while to figure out how to get people... but duh, you have to make houses to get workers. Then I can see how assigning workers starts production of those resources.
This is really polished for a game jam! Honestly I don't have any criticisms or feedback. 5 stars for me all around. I'm going to go back to playing it for a little bit :)
It's a very cool game, the art is really cool, the game concept is quite fun, and being everything implemented, for 1 week, I'm amazed!! Great work
It's so impressive! I think it's really hard to create such a game in just a week, really good job. Also the art is so cute.
I had an issue with road, I started to build it and couldn't stop.. not because I didn't want) No problems with other buildings though.
This is crazy scope for a jam game. Well done getting it all implemented fairly seemlessly.
Had issues destroying buildings, and the road building took a moment to understand. But overall this was a wild experience for a jam game. Great work!
Here is my ravaged best village. It would have prospered so hard, but no matter how many times i rapidly spammed the hammer on those buildings they never repaired.
Great work again, definitely a few pain points I'll highlight incase you intend to go forward with this game:
Clicking through the UI accidentally placing buildings was painful. Sooo many accidentally placed houses when I wanted to swap building types
The UI itself is very intrusive when trying to do stuff near the bottom center of the screen. It would explode over and get in my way.
Desktop build please! My browser lagged hella moving around
Sensitivity options
Other than those things, and those aren't like huge problems, it really was a stunning jam project
Nice game :) Great that you managed to get an RTS working in the jam timeframe!
- Intro dialogue was good. Sets the mood for a founder's expedition. Some text here goes behind the boat.
- Zoom out to the island was a nice touch, linking the story to the gameplay.
- The road system is a bit confusing. The fact that you need routes everywhere. It makes sense once you get the hang of it. But it was difficult initially. I built a house and nothing happened, etc. Figured it out after some time. Maybe put some instructions on how to start: build a house, build a road to connect to base, crops, sawmill, etc.
- Placing and confirming roads is a bit tricky to learn.
- Ability to pause would be good.
- Not sure how the repair works, or couldn't get it to work.
- Would be good to track overall time.
- It wasn't clear what the goal or win condition is.
- Didn't really understand the resource counts displayed while hovering on the mines. They kept changing.
- Got softlocked a couple of times due to running out of iron/electrite, since I unwittingly built some lightning rods first. Maybe the iron mine shouldn't need iron to build (and same with electrite).
- Visuals overall are really good.
- Sound and visual effects of the lightning in particular are great!
- Background music is pleasant.
- Got a nice colony going on the 3rd/4th attempt, and survived for several cycles. But not sure where the game goes from here.
Neat game, and well done overall!
The aesthetic is really nice. The music was a bit too short. I like the town builder genre and many things work well for this one. However, I couldn't figure out how to repair and destroy things which caused me to die once lightning hit since I wasn't able to get enough for lightning rods before the first strike. I really like the idea.
I didn't understand how to gather the resources. the concept seems fun though.
