I like the atmosphere! I had a little trouble with the player movement, it felt a little odd. I would definitely recommend using Godot's default characterbody3D template for basic player movement, it works pretty well out of the box with little tinkering. I also managed to softlock myself in the shed by trapping the monster in front of the door while I was still inside. Other than that good work!
Thanks,
The movement script is actually heavly based on the default one but its because of the collsions which is why its buggy
Sorry about the softlock. I did try and fix this but evidently it didnt work
Fun game! The intro could use some subtitles, I missed like three words. Overall though, pretty fun!
Haha thanks,
Sorry about that i didnt have time for subtitles
Pretty cool game, but the character movement was very strange and the game is too poorly optimized. it's very important to optimize a game when it's focus is on graphics (35 FPS with a RTX 3060).
Hope that you'll also rate mine :) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690
Sorry about the performance, again i did spend a while optimising it and the peformance is mostly down to godot itself.
Im gonna rate yours now!
it was pretty good but it had my laptop lagging like crazy; this issue only occurred near trees, but other than that the game was really good. nice work!
Haha thanks, sorry about the lag.
Its partly a godot thing , but they are planning on fixing it in the next update!
So i will probably repost the game with the new optimisations.
This game was pretty fun and i am impressed that you made a 3d game for the game jam! the only real feedback i would have is i didbnt see how the Calm part of the theme was implimented to well in the main aspect of the game. Good luck and keep developing!
Is it not calming when you are in the lighthouse on the phone.
Personally I found it calming, maybe I should make it more obvious next time.
Thanks !
This is really good for your first 3D jam, especially using Godot! I think some of the performance issues people are talking about are due to quirks of Godot, and you can't really make the required optimizations for that in a time crunch like a game jam haha. The atmosphere was great, I liked the voice acting, I did get stuck in the shed and had to restart because I put the trap outside the door and camped in it (I'll chalk that one up to being a coward). Great job, I hope you keep making 3D games!
Haha, thank you so much for understanding about the performance.
Im not sure many people understood that making optimised 3d games in godot is pretty hard.
Hee-ho. Interesting game, cool visual. But I have performance issue
Thanks sorry about the performance
Such a cool Game ! I really enjoyed the setting and the Gameplay... Best wishes for the jam !
Thank you so much!
Really cool atmosphere and art! Liked the lighthouse setting as well, good work!
Thanks!
This game is truly impressive! The blend of engaging gameplay, stunning visuals, and innovative design makes it a standout.
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
