great game, graphics look really nice, though i would have loved some visual feedback on when the enemy or myself got hit or attack

this looks really cool ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

Solid game, I really like the artwork. Unfortunately I think I ran into a similar bug someone else did where I was hit by an invisible enemy a couple times. With only a week though, the assets and polish that are here is impressive.

The art is great!

The gameplay felt a little bit clunky, I think it needs more feedback for when you hit an enemy and when an enemy hits you. It also can get laggy sometimes with all the enemies spawning, consider a pool system.

The audio was fine, except the game over jingle where it shoots up in volume suddenly.

I loved the art and the game idea and also that turn based feel (idk how to describe it)

But the attacking system isnt the best

Overall great game.

Would you mind rating mine?

The music and graphics are great but I feel like the attacking system is just not at all rewarding. I feel like I always need to get hit by something to get off an attack myself and most of the levels I don't even need to attack. It felt a bit stale. For the rest a good game, just needs some polish.

Loved the idea, need a bit more of pollishing

Graphics are really cool! Gameplay also very fun but only thing is i wish our character was a little bigger.  Sometimes i lost my focus  on it because of gray floors☺

This seems like a really cool idea with lot of potential, good job!

Feedback:

I wish I could see enemies attack range, so I would know where not to move (this will really help to make your choices even more based on strategy and planning)

Also I found a bug on the end of the first level, when you are close to the stairs, you die for no reason (even if enemies are far away, seems like if something it's hitting you) Hope you can find out what it is!

Hi there!

Thanks for playing our game, and thanks for the feedback!

We intend to update the game after the rating period is over, so this feedback is super helpful in giving us an idea of what to tackle next. I'll be sure to bring up the attack range concept with the team as other reviewers have requested the same feature. We also have some known issues that we are tracking, so thanks again for taking the time to let us know.

Cheers!

good idea, beautiful graphic, but need more feedback from enemies - where are they hitting?

Developer

Hi there!

Thanks for playing our game and leaving a review! I can see how it would be difficult to tell where the enemies are hitting during the combat; this is definitely something we will think about in future updates once the rating period is over :)

Cheers!

Cool idea, but I thing arenecessary some more sound feedbacks!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game and for leaving a review! Sound effects were definitely something we wanted to fit into the jam, but unfortunately we didn't get them in on time.

Cheers!

Hello there! i liked the game and the consept of the movement and combat, but i kept dying to something wich i could not explain or see why? love the art and music!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! There are some known issues that we've picked up, and we intend to fix them and add some features once the rating period for the jam is over, so be on the lookout for that :)

Cheers, and thanks for playing!

i really liked the art style this game had. Good job. i found this game very difficult to play.(I suck at video games) but i liked how the enemies moved when you moved Great job.

Submitted(+3)

It may just be me, but I was having a very hard time understanding the mechanics and dynamics this game is supposed to have. I did recognize that every time I moved, the enemies all move, too, and I also did recognize the ranges and areas each weapon covers.

However, there was no feedback on hitting the enemies until they were dead. This made the attack trades I made every time feel unsatisfying and made the moments when I did attack safely unclear to see. It also doesn't help that enemy types seem to vary in health. One goblin may have a single hit point, while another seems to have 3.

I can definitely see this as a tried-and-true gameplay loop, and I'm certain that some games pulled it off well, but this attempt unfortunately didn't do this idea justice.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to review our game! I appreciate your candid review and can see your points about the combat and movement systems not being as intuitive as they could be. We do intend to update the game with a better polish once the rating period for the jam is over, so hopefully it will be a more enjoyable experience for you then!

Cheers!

To be honest, it was really hard to play this game. I played some games with similar mechanics but it is hard to understand what to do and when to do when explanations are not enough. However, I liked the idea and your courage to create something different than most of the jam games. Your game design and mechanics are unique and I liked it!

I saw you are still working on the game and I appreciate it. I would love to try your game again (it can be after the Jam no worries) if you are planning to add a more descriptive guide.

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

It will most definitely be after the jam, to keep the spirit of the competition we will not be updating the entry in any way until then (except for maybe adding other builds like Linux and Web, so more people are able to play it). So keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks 👀

The music was solid!
