Nice game but can you reduce the size of the file? 8.5/10

Developer(+1)

It's made in unreal and I forgot to delete most of the unnecessary starter pack assets, so will do soon.

great visuals and music.

I can see that if the project had a little more time it would've been great

but still a solid submission!

Developer

Glad you liked it!

Pretty good. The “upgrades” eventually hurting instead of helping is pretty funny considering the theme.

The enemies only really becoming a threat once there are like 100 of them is also pretty thematic, but not my favorite design decision.

Developer

We didn't really have time for balancing. We wanted to have more impactful upgrades, more types of "weapons" and more types of enemies, but we started slow and rushed at the end so time did not allow for more. Having like 100 enemies is pretty much the point in these types of games, unfortunately the upgrades do not allow you to deal with them efficiently. I guess in that case it adds to the theme, but that was not the intent. Lastly, you should be able to survive, but because of lack of time and balancing we didn't set up a time goal since we didn't know what would be appropriate.

Ah, the upgrades increasing the difficulty was something I liked, especially since the base upgrades were so well designed. Just wished the enemies got stronger in a way that wasn’t more health.

Developer

Well, the enemies do not get more health, so I guess my laziness is good in that case?

I guess I stacked too much anxiety in my first playthrough. Played again keeping it at level 1 and had a lot more fun.

Developer

Yeah, for sure needs more balancing and more options.

The animations are smooth and fluid, especially during combat where every move feels impactful.

Developer

Considering you are in combat pretty much from the get go this is a big compliment. Glad you lime it!

I had alot of fun trying out the different upgrades! Super original!

1 second before the deadline? You are insane!

Developer

It beats our previous record of 9 seconds!

Submitted(+1)

Oh god! You have an intersting history, I guess...

Submitted

how is that even possible lol

Really enjoyed the game. I love the art also. The padded room with drawings all over it is genius. The game play loop was fun also

Glad you liked it!

Even if it was a bit simple I enjoyed the time I spent playing! I eventually died to my own poor choices because I forgot one of the upgrades reduces your health, peak player activities right here.

I would have liked to be able to control the input on the knife, but that would have probably broken the game's balancing. Enjoyed the game!

Developer(+1)

The knife wsings at the direction of the cursor. Anything else like range, swing frequency and damage might be implemented as upgrades.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Oh yeah! I meant as in clicking to attack, but it would be cool to see the ideas you said implemented as upgrades :D!

Developer

We planned to include more diverse upgrades (and more options for "weapons"), but time did not allow for more than that.

Very interesting take on the usual vampire survivors genre! Definitely can see this going interesting places!

Developer

What do you think makes it different from other VS like games? Most of the more original ideas we had for the game didn't make i, because of time.

1 second before the deadline!!?

Developer

IKR. It's a new record!! Last time it was 9 seconds before the deadline

Developer

We are experts at fucking everything at the last minute when trying to polish the last details and then rushing to submit what is left... In the next week we will try to polish this crap.

Submitted(+1)

Exactly the same condition our game was in

Developer

Always sucks when it happens, but it makes you more cautious of the time you have. Or you keep leaving everything for the last moment and go insane...
