In what way does your game fit the theme?
BE SURE TO READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLAYING!

This is RetroScape. If you're a fan of portal, you'll love this game.

As you traverse through your space ship, you must unlock each door to get to the next room. How do you unlock these doors? Well, in order to solve each puzzle, you realize you must go back in time to look for clues, get past debris, air holes, and many more obstacles. You must use your rewind ability, watch your oxygen levels, and health simultaneously as you try to solve our puzzles.
CONTROLS:

WASD - Movement

E - Interactables

Q - Rewind

TIPS:

A lot of things in the game are interactable, which includes the following:

Buttons | Switches | Turret Switches | Cubes | Symbols | Oxygen & Health Packs

When you use your rewind ability, after moving in the past you teleport back to your original position in the present. This is key to solving some levels.

Turrets are activated in the present but deactivated in the past. Unless you turn them on in the past ;)

While in the past, your ships hull isn't breached, which means you don't lose oxygen while you're in the past. This is key to managing your oxygen.

Hull Breaches decrease your oxygen loss rate substantially. DON'T GO NEAR THEM in the (present state).

In order to get access to some cubes you must use a cube (maybe even multiple)

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was written by us! All assets were made by us except music and royalty free SFX. Music artist gave us permission to use his music. Artist was given credit in our game description.

Hi, i've played and rated your game. It's really good and i really like the artstyle.  Only the interaction with the boxes is a bit tricky, but still. Well done!

Really nice job with this! The graphics were really great and the music was too. I like the idea of being on a spaceship and rewinding to solve puzzles. Great job!

Cute game!Loved the music

The first was a bit hard to start with... could be simpler so it is easier to understand the mechanics!

Great graphics and interesting music! Nice work!

Greate puzzle i died so many times :(

Great puzzle game with innovative rewind mechanic. spamming "Q" is kinda over powered tho.

Music fit perfectly on theme.

Nice concept, and great implementation of rewind system. For first I found it a bit difficult to figure out what to do even with reading a page. In game tutorials are the best. Anyway nice job! :)

I really liked the puzzles

Interesting mechanics and the rewind works well. The box moving is a little hard to figure out initially and the oxygen consumption could be a little less to make it less frustrating keeping it on. Nice art and great overall job!

Amazing art, but the coding really drags it down because I had very high expectations not that is bad. The box interaction doesn't work properly to make a time based puzzle, really frustrating. An in game tutorial would have been nice since you now have to read a full page before playing and people don't have any visual reference to what you are describing here. Once again love the art, that's what got me here, hope to see more!

This game is great! Loved tons about it!

Things I Liked:

  • You guys found some great music for this game!
  • Cute art style.
  • Puzzles were challenging, which is important in a puzzle game!
  • UI was clean and informative. I was able to quickly figure out what the UI was telling me.

Things I Didn't Like:

  • There's no indication of whether or not you're actually grabbing a cube or not. The sprite should at least change to one where the character has their hands out so that we know he's actually holding onto it.
  • I wish you guys made a save system so we can quit the game and then continue another day. I found it difficult to try and get 10 puzzles done in a row. I would've loved to close it and then re-open it to continue later!
  • Turret bullets actually push you back a little bit, which affects movement slightly. Just a slight annoyance, not really that big of a deal!
  • At some point I got stuck in one of the blue walls that has a button connected to it. I started with the wall down, pressed Q, then went and moved the box off of the button. Then when time returned I was stuck in the blue wall (which was now up since I moved the button). Should probably figure out a way to push the player to the side, I notice that the cubes automatically move to the side when they get stuck in objects!

Overall  you guys made an amazing game so great job!

Developer

Thanks for the amazing review! I wish we would've added a save mode too! However, we did put in a dev mode that gives you unlimited oxygen and allows you to play any level from the start of level 1 via numpad.

If only we had more time, we would've fixed the little things to make this game even better! <3

Nice game, not the greatest graphics, but gameplay is fun. It has some flaws though. For example I think the system with health and O2 is rather annoying, and contradicts with puzzles, or at least, it's too close for me, so I often die just before finishing a level. Also, it encourages you to rewind constantly. You could have also implemented more story into the game (or at least explain what's going on), and do more with sound effects. Also, I was very annoyed because of the shooting thingies which break your boxes instantly, it's just frustrating and doesn't seem to have any purpose. Other than that, the puzzles were fun, most of the time, so, overall, cool game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Turrets can be turned off via switches! Thats their purpose to annoy you! IF you want to play without oxygen consumption. Play our hidden dev mode! Read our description for more on that!

Oh, thats cool. Will try that mode out, thanks!
