the protagonist tries to rewind back to when he is young and in the second half of the game you can play as his younger self

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?

I feel the movement was a bit too fast and It was a bit hard to see enemies from a range but I enjoyed the shooting and music. Cool submission :) Also if you have time could you check out my game as well

Yo’ Templar here,
I’d rather avoid pointing out the same things that most people have already, so I’ll just point out something that feels awkward: When you point the mouse at the character it starts spinning.
Aside from that, as most people have say, it would have been much better if there was not “plot” at all, the story feels more of an excuse to put a “rewind” into a generic top-down shooter.

While I really disliked the idea of going around killing people just because they want to talk to you (!?), I'll try and focus on what I found is the main problem, gameplay-wise.

I found that the best strategy was to never stop shooting and kill the enemies while they were out of view (or at least damage them good enough that you can kill them very fast once they appear). This leads to very poor gameplay. To solve it I would do one of two things:

  • Reduce rate of fire, zoom back the camera and allow the player to see more ahead of him.
  • Reduce range of the gun but make it way more powerful (think shotgun).

Keep making games!

I would basically just repeat the feedback that you already got, but my main issue was that the enemies dealt way too much damage for such high speed and comming from off-screen fashion. Feels really unfair for the player and requires multiple trial and error attempts to complete.
Also, spacing of the font in the intro is a little bit weird but that maybe just my eyes failing me.

And "u lost lol" looks very unprofessional, which can confirm the player's negative thoughts about the game in just few seconds. Contrast between this and pretty dark theme feels bad, and makes me feel like the game is uninspired, and the theme is more "lol, random" than "mature dark". Details matter a lot.

While I had issue with high speed as I pointed out before, I think that the true problems are not the speed itself, but as someone already said the variables (like for example damage dealt by enemies) because the controls feel really nice, and the high speed of the game is also nice, it's just that while it's fun to go so fast it's also unfair in current situation.

Anyways, good luck for both this game and any future projects.

I think with some general variable tweaks you will have a nice base to continue building upon.  Keep at it!

Movement speed too high for me which causes constant death :D sound effects were good. graphics are okay. also when you hover over the characters it spins like crazy which is i like it is funny xD

A lot of people have already posted good feedback regarding the camera and pistol rate of fire, which I second. The graphics were nice, and I liked the pistol firing effect. The game would definietly benefit from additional checkpoints or health packs.
Unfortunatly the game bugged out for me at the end and I was unable to view the ending, so that might be something to look into.

You have a good base here, should you choose to improve on it.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah the bug was a letter misspelling for a scene, it removed half the game ):

I like the way to implemented rewind in the story and also like the music, it's hard for me, and has some bugs like if you put the cursor in the player it keeps turning around and is weird, but in general Good Game

I liked the animations and sprites, nice particles and effects. The camera was a bit too behind and it was hard to know when will an enemy appear, for solving this you can use a feature from the cinemachine package in unity. The game was a bit hard and sometimes I only wanted to get a check point in places like in the exit of the streets at the beginning of the game. Overall it's a fun game with a weird but interesting storyline.

Wow - this was admittedly quite a dark game from the context. It was a bit too hard for me so from the time I spent playing this game, I'd like to start off with the positives:

1) Pretty good spritework for the characters as a top down game. Starting off on good ground - with more work and practice, you can turn this to a pretty good game.

2) The game reminds me of the blockhead zombie games with the gameplay. Simple concept and in terms of mechanics I think you nailed it pretty well. Aside from some obvious polish/balancing to limiting pistol rate of fire, number of enemy at one screen at any time - etc.

A noticable gripes I had with the game were:

1) Camera FOV - for this top-down shooter, you shouldn't make the camera be dragged by the player, instead the camera should face towards the cursor so when you aim up, move the camera upwards a bit. This will extend the player's line of sight better. You can also move the camera FOV to see more things.

But wow - quite a dark game. It actually plays quite well and I enjoy it but the execution of the theme is quite drastic if I do say so myself. Fun to play though - kudos!

Thanks for the feedback!
we didn't have much i time to balance the difficulty since we rushed the game a lot.
