It Was Fun To Play The Game Though But Rewind Mechanics Just Work On The Sticks

Developer

Hi DevNinja, thank your for your feedback yeah, i feel that the  game is not that really complete and polish

Submitted

It is really relaxing, it is not a lousy game! Well done finishing it :)

Developer

Hi Dude, Thanks i really appreciate your feedback and that relaxing part i need to hear that too, because people comment is usually satisfying to watch and relaxing. i think i can create a new game from that feedback :)

Submitted

It was fun, but I didn't understand where the "rewind" theme is

Developer

yeah, find it common that people didn't see that the sticks is actually rewinding  hahaha!, but hey thanks for your review, send me your game link and i will play and rate your game too!

Submitted

Here it is: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724524

Cute little Mikado game, it seems. Didn't notice any real bugs, though it seems a little ambiguous what a "significant movement" means.

VVV Not sure if you'll like my game, but here you go VVV

Developer

Hi thanks for the reviews and feedback and where is your game link , i will play and rate it too

Submitted

For every person who submitted a game it should say "Submitted " and then a game link with picture right under their post.

If you can for some reason not see that: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723433

Developer

yup i can't see that on yours but i see it on other a bit weird right?

Is this not the music from Golf It! on Steam?

Developer

not sure, most of the music is paid , i bought it from Humble bundle and Asset store so i have rights to use them

Submitted

Oh yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to imply otherwise!

Developer

no it's fine, no harm done :)

Thanks for your feedback :)

I really liked the music. Would have liked to see the sticks fall in a more non-linear way (they always seem to just line up next to eachother).

One thing that's tricky, is that I could not tell in advance if picking up a stick would case an error; making this more predictable would be a nice improvement, but all in all, it's a nice little game.

Developer(+1)

Hi , thanks for your feed back it is spot on they always fall on the same direction , i also want to change that but there's no more time

Submitted

No worries; you accomplished the most important part of doing a GameJam: you completed the game and submitted before the deadline :)

I hope you had fun during the jam, and if I can make a recommendation: try to jam with friends; it’s great to help rechtigen and bounce ideas/get feedback during the jam.

Developer(+1)

yeah , i had fun actually this is  my 1st game jam ahahah, i never tried it but i learn something very important on this game jam, it's all about the end goal finishing your game no matter what as long as it works and you can play it , it doesn't matter!

Submitted

I’m glad you had fun and that’s the correct attitude to have :) I actually played your game on stream yesterday :)

Developer

woot , didn't know that thanks for that stream i really appreciate it , i wish i could watch that while you stream it but maybe on the next game jam or maybe if i created a more decent game that would be great too

Submitted

No worries. You can watch it back here if you want: https://m.twitch.tv/nkcss/profile

Developer(+1)

really , nice i will check it now :)

Submitted

cool :) it’s a long video; around 3 hours, but had a lot of fun. Dani even popped in as a surprise when I played his game :)

If you have a twitch account, consider following; I’m trying to hit affiliate (at 25 of 50 required followers right now), I would appreciate it a lot.

I’ll be streaming more games from the jam tonight I think :)

Developer

i would love to follow yon twitch but can you please send me the follow link, i'm not a  pro twitch user but i have an account

I really like the music and the idea is interesting. However there a couple small things that I think could help it:

1. Most importantly, what is a big movement? How close are you to it? Sometimes it told me I died after I put up a single stick! Just having a small bar to show how much you moved and maybe explaining the idea a bit more would help.

2. I think you could put in more juice, maybe a bit of screenshake every time you put up a stick, and when you die, I don't think the player should be told to know. He should feel the platform shake and know that he messed up a bit :)

3. Thats a really small thing - when you die, the restart screen has the main menu button on top and the rewind on the bottom. I clicked the main menu button accidentally twice, and it was frustraiting to redo stuff.

4. For some reason the mouse scrollwheel didn't work for me and didn't turn it around.

Developer

Hi Nitai99, thank you for the super detailed reviews and feedback and i really appreciate it, especially the number 1 that you point out, on numer 2 about  the juice it would be a great addition too to have more feedback for the player , about the number 3 i'm really sorry about it, i should atleast save the progress so that player will not repeat from the beginning. and for the mouse wheel this is the 1st time that i heard that it's broken but thanks for telling that maybe it is. again thank you for this reviews and feedback i really appreciate it :)

Overall a good game but do have agree other people in the comments the camera angle could use some work

Developer

Hi Reetro,  Thanks for your feedback and i totally agree 100% with that camera angle issue

Submitted

Hi, you've made a good game, the only thing i have to complain about is the camera angle. If the angle would be a even better. Reminded me a lot of Mikado.

Developer

Hi KevinHass, thank you for your honest review and feedback definitely a good view and angle will make this game more fun and fair, BTW can you share that Mikado thing that you say any link please?

Submitted

Sure, Mikado is a  skill game where you can play alone or with other players and have to pick up the sticks. Every stick has points depending  on the lines, and if you move an other stick while you are trying to pick one up, you get no points and the next player picks a stick. Heres the Wikipedia Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikado_(game)

Developer

Wow,thank for your quick reply , sound interesting i will definitely check this :)

Submitted

It is a pretty common and well known game in Europe  and Germany, where i am from.

Submitted

I remember this game when I was a kid! Interesting design you have. One thing I'd suggest is to have a better angle so we can see what sticks are on top of which and that it'd be a lot easier to click. Cool game and fun all the way!

Developer

Thanks for your great observation actually i'm planning to add some zoom in and zoom out feature but , i don't have time too add it but i'm happy that there's people that's still remember that beautiful and challenging  game pick up sticks , BTW i wish you had a happy Game Jam experience too! :)

Submitted

Interesting i didn't get it at first but got the hang of it the movement is not too forgiving so you gotta be precise. Was fun.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and review , actually your observation is spot on because i'm rellying too much on physics maybe some fake physics will make this  game more balance and more forgiving , BTW i hope you had a Good Game Jam Experience too :)

Submitted

Thanks I hope you did too was kinda stressful but was fun towards the end.

Submitted

I loved playing pick-up sticks as a kid- thank you for reminding me of the experience! I liked that the first level was very easy and it had a nice challenge curve.

Developer

Hahaha i really missed that game too, it reminds me of very simple and fun life way way way back before, BTW thank for your genuine review and feedback and i hope you had a happy game jam experience too :)

Submitted

i especially love the sound of this game

Developer

Hi thank you for your Review , i hope you enjoy the Game Jam too! :)

Submitted

Camera always felt a bit odd to get a good look, but was a nice puzzling experience untangling the sticks. 👍

Developer(+1)

i see thanks for your feedback , that the camera needs some adjustment. BTW i really appreciate that you try out my entry :)

Submitted

I was a bit confused in the start about how the game works, but when i got it, the game became a fun casual puzzle game!

Also a nice and unique way of execution the theme!

Good job :)

Developer

Thanks Affax, i really appreciate your feedback!

Submitted

In the instructions i think u should add "to avoid significant movement of other sticks" cuz i was kinda confused at start about  what significant movement means. Good idea overall!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, sure definitely i will make it clear thanks again!
