Sounds great! It gave me the feeling of a group of birds flying in the sky.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
Get together the power of three's (81 piece) and save the void. They're build stronger forms together.
They all share the same HP, but bigger forms has more armour and power, butt less speed, turn and doge.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I mixing up some flocking mechanics and added some more. I rewrote 2 times the core mechanic. Because the webgl doesn't support properly Compute Shaders, I ended up with Unity Jobs Systems with Burst Compiler. Maybe worth to try with ECS as well. I used few assets to faster progress.

Wow, this is really great looking for a jam game!. You might want to introduce mechanics to the player a little slower but other than that it is great!
Incredible audio and graphics! I like that a lot about your game! The only thing is that i took my time, really took my time to figure out how to shoot and progress in the game. I think you need a tutorial or some messages to guide a little bit the player. Overall great game!
Summary:
Well after dying a ridiculous amount of times I think I finally got the general idea of the game, but had to ragequit because of balance/control issues.
What I liked:
- Art was pretty to look at
- Music was nice
What I didn't like:
- I couldn't shoot in the opposite direction of movement (no mouse aim)
- Because of the above, the difficulty was much harder than it should have been
- No Sound FX for shooting or taking damage
Closing:
Overall I could see the potential. I just couldn't realize it with the current way shooting things worked. Nice job!
Rated.
Thanks for the detailed review!
Definitely needs some balancing, SFX and tutorial, but I run out of time. Because there is no tutorial, I made a description about the mechanics. You can shoot where at you aim except without form and the last form. When the Jam is over I will update the game and I hope you will come back and find some enjoyment on it.
Nice game and idea, especially the graphics. It was too hard for me at first, I was able to grasp the idea but I couldn't reach far. When I aim at enemies, my swarm moves to them as well, which I could not understand. If you will continue with it, then maybe just try to make the learning curve and difficulty easier, that's my opinion. Otherwise it's fun and the idea is cool. Good luck!
Love the look of the game! maybe it would be better to be more lenient on the penalty part
I wasn't able to really dodge very well, but this is a really cool concept. Maybe it would be easier if the swarm elements were your health and you had to try not to lose each individual piece. However, its really enjoyable to watch the swarms move around and fight each other.
The learning curve is a bit rough but I'm glad I stuck through! Really cool take on the theme! Main things the game could use is just more feedback and balancing. There were a few times where I'd try to change form but wouldn't be able to even though I had enough health. Also the 5th form is a little too strong while lower forms don't feel like they do enough damage. The best strat felt like just switching between 5th and 2nd forms when you needed to move. Also had points where I'd die with half a bar left. While I was in 1st form during these occurrences, I was specifically avoiding most of the enemy fire. Would love to see a more finished version of this though!
Thanks for the detailed review! I'm planning to continue and definitely need some balancing and a tutorial. The dodge mechanic is weak, that's why 5th forms overpowered. Enemies who don't shoot, just intend to collide you and some kind of meteor fields will be the counterpart for them. And also have to turn up the collide damage on current enemies.
I really didn't understand what to do at first... loose soo many times. Then after several tries... finally started to play as it should, and a few minutes later already mastered it. Reach 527 kills (several of the big red ships)
I have to say it's really fun and addictive game. The music is outstanding. Sets the mood for shooting and killing the enemy.
Glad I took the time to understand the gameplay.
Great work! Congratulations!
The game is really good! And it's very original. I've never seen anything like it before.
I love the graphics and music, very fun game to play. Great work!
Awesome! While everybody saying this is too difficult, I feel like it's a bit too easy! I stopped at over 500 scores because I felt like it would be endless for me to play. I'm not sure if I haven't played that long and there will be more challenging enemies later on. The technique I used is to release formation and restore full health anytime if I got a chance even if I only lost a bit of health, and switch back to formation 4 very fast and press the right mouse button anytime I can. Again, impressive game!
