Well done. Classic game with a simple, but awesome twist. My 1 critique is that the difficulty curve was a little steep.

Neat idea. The ability to undo was much appreciated in this sort of game.

What an entry! Probably the best one I've played so far, this Stephen's Sausage Roll homage make me realise how utter useless my 3d spatial vision is, I felt like I was completing most of the levels by pure brute force lol. The only bad thing I can mention of is the difficulty curve of the game, it felt a little inconsistent as sometimes I spent 15+ minutes trying to solve a puzzle, and then be done with the next one in less than 5 minutes. But maybe you do need that sense of easy-to-achieve progress to not give up?

Other than that, the visuals and sound are a perfect match for this type of game, and it must had been fun somehow cause I spend almost an hour banging my head against this thing =P

Outstanding job!

I like this very much.

There is a bug in webgl in linux (using firefox), where a pink triangle is shown in the middle of the screen. However, this did not ruin my experience with the game.

Developer

I can't really fix this issue, i have no linux machine to test this :s

That is fine, I was able to enjoy it. Good job!

Incredible! My favorite so far!

nice puzzle

This a well made little puzzle game.

A well made puzzle game, movement feels good and the minimal graphics looks nice. congrats on the submission!

Submitted(+1)

Incredibly cool & original puzzle game, nicely fits the theme. Amazing job!

Bonnes mécanique de jeu, et bon level design. Les graphismes et sons minimalistes fonctionnent très bien aussi.

Le seul point négatif c'est que c'est parfois assez dur de prédire si on peut rouler ou pas, ou si on va tomber ou pas.

A part ça rien à redire!

A very interesting and enjoyable game. But the defeat screen does not disappear when you press restart and at the 5th level the cubes stop merging

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, i really have to look into this. I witnessed the defeat screen not fading out but was not able to reproduce the cubes not merging did it happen after you did something special ?

Submitted

No, I didn't do anything special.

Developer

Ok i know it has been a while but i think i found the origin of the problem, is it possible that you had a controller plugged in when you played the game ?

I've noticed some game breaking glitches when recieving input from a controller and because no deadzone was set, a controller simply plugged in could offset the input by a tiny amount breaking everything. I hope you read this because your answer will really help me !

I don’t remember exactly, but it’s quite possible. I play games with my controller sometimes and don't always turn it off.

Very nice puzzle game. Can be hard sometimes, but that is the fun in it. Nice work!

One of the best entries I've played during this jam so far. The mechanics are clever and the puzzles are challenging. I didn't complete all the levels because I'm normally not that into puzzle games but I enjoyed the levels that I did play and I can totally see someone who loves puzzle games spend hours on this. One minor suggestion I have is to change the color of the platforms and background around a little between levels, just to give some variety, visually.

This is a very well thought out puzzle game, and the levels were intriguing! However, I did encounter some issues when playing it (the WebGL version). Sometimes, when restarting a level, the cubes would not separate, as in, they would respawn already grouped together. Another issue I found was that the 'Lost' UI just didn't disappear - pressing 'R' or'Z' caused it to fade out slightly, but it never went away and so it was always obscuring my vision somewhat. Other than that, a very solid submission! :D

Developer

Thank you for the bug report, i will have to look at that !

Developer

Hey it has been a while but for the bug you mentionned, is it possible that you had a gamepad plugged in when you played ? Even if you were not using it, i am just talking about plugged in.

Submitted

No, sorry, I didn't!

My comment on this on discord: "oh yeah, good example on how to make a polished game in a game jam. [Because] it's hard." Just realised I haven't actually commented on this gem haha. Good work! The music is also very pleasing to the ears. Many games here (even good ones) have soundtracks that can get quite jarring after a while, this is just smooth all the way.

Awesome game! The minimalist graphics were nice and the tutorials were so informative yet unobtrusive, kudos to that! I am not a good puzzler so I didn't make it far but this mechanic seems to have a lot of potential from what I've seen in those gifs, very cool mechanic for sure.

I just included a picture because it would be impossible to describe it, but it felt kind of unintuitive that the rolling left or right would sink you into the water there. It doesn't make much sense physically, feels like the cubes warp so that they fall in the water. Especially since going back the exact same way you came from the left would kill you now. I am not sure if I am making my point well, but I hope I at least described the general idea of it.

PS. That name has gotta be a reference to Steven's Sausage Roll right?

Developer

Thank you for your feed back ! Yes the title is absolutely a reference to Stephen's Sausage Roll, the greatest puzzle game ever !

For the unintuitive physics i know it can be disturbing early on but the rules are actually simple. Any cube can be the origin of the rotation but the cube being the root of the movement has to be grounded for it to be valid. in this case the furthest block in the direction of you input is not grounded thus not being a valid candidate to initiate the move. The reason you cant go left here is actually the same, the left cube is not grounded anymore.

Awesome game! I loved the simplicity of the graphics and the audio backing it, I thought it created a cool laid-back atmosphere. I liked the concept as well, I thought that was very nice too. Overall great game! Nice job!

Wow this is beautiful. Such a nice calming ambience, satisfying and tricky puzzles and beautiful art. This doesn't feel like a jam game tbh!
