In what way does your game fit the theme?
You are a Pineapple and find a Melon that helps you fight through the basement filled with shadows.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
The sprites are drawn myself with Gimp.
I have used 2 sprites that I already had and changed them a bit. The other sprites are all drawn from scratch.
The music and sounds are made from scratch using BandLab and SFXR.
I used code from my previous game, from tutorials and made some from scratch.

Very fun game. Adding more mechanics and enemies can make this game a bit more interesting but its still a very fun game. Keep up the good work!

A fun little experience.
You got me to play again with your 9 coins tease (I did not expect the boss to be destructable).

It was odd to me, that the melon who was begging me to save it was used as a thrown weapon which gets smushed when hitting enemies or walls, as well as there being an unlimited supply of melons to throw.
I think it would have been a better idea to throw the melon in it's large form and it ricochets from the walls and then comes to a stop and you have to pick it back up again.

You could improve the level design with some very basic shape language guiding the player. I ran a lot in dead ends because there were no real indicators and a lot of the rooms were so large they did not fit on the screen.

Thank you for your feedback.
I could deffenetly improve a lot in this game.
The rooms are indeed a bit too big and the melon could be fired only once.
I will try to make my future games better.

For a little gamejam game this was really neat, had a nice narrative setup which connected to the theme really strongly, with a nice bit of exploration thrown into the mix for good measure with the coins.  I think that the enemy variety could be improved a bit though, even if that final encounter was really awesome and surprising. I think that the music also got really repetitive by the end as well, mostly because of how short the loop was, even though it fit the setting really well, so maybe if you extended it out a bit it would fix the issue. Cool game, glad to have played it.

If you have the time, I'd really appreciate if you also checked out my game.

Nice sound effects and a fun little game, I think adding a few new enemy types would go a long way!

Cool game, I liked the small narrative setup and you kept a reasonable scope to handle the jam :)

Well, unlike me ahah ! For my game, I had a problem with the build, here is the fixed one, find all infos in description and please rate it and give me any feedbacks :) https://lacrearthur.itch.io/univeri

Cute little shooter with a nice idea. I like it. You could add more types of enemies to make the game more interesting

Cool game! Simple but very satisfying. I especially like the enemy design - super trippy. Two things id suggest is adding some kind of health bar or system of showing the health, and also perhaps to make it fit the theme better, make the projectile guy only be able to be thrown once (more powerful attack that way maybe?) and the main character has to pick him up.

Thanks for your feedback

There is a healt display on the top left but it's a bit buggy in the WebGL version. In the WebGL version the health display is only visible while you are in full screen mode. I don't know how to fix that.

The thing with being only able to only shoot one melon at once was also in my head but I kinda forgot to implement it.
and I like the idea of needing to pick the melon up again.

It's somehow satisfying to play

i never thought i would need a game where you play as a melon shooting pineapple who has to escape from eyes, Great game

Liked the music, and it really shows you put a lot of effort into this game.

Some things to consider:

The walls are a bit noisy, they take the focus from the game because there is a lot going on in the walls. Because of that, most of the games use a blank color or very little details in them!

Same thing could be said about the floor. It's more than enough to put a few fixels in order to show texture!

I would also zoom out the camera a little because when the monsters enter the screen you don't have a lot of time to react.

Well done!

Thanks for your helpfull feedback.

I will try to make the walls and floor look better in my next games.

And I will try to make better cameras in my next games.
