Unique, It took me a while to figure out what was going on. I think there should have been more empires so that it was very easy to stumble upon it right away. It was fun to traverse the empires and fill them out. Could be a good history teaching game.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I originally had planned to put most of the biggest empires in, but didn't have time.  I also would've loved to scale up the empires and have info about them scattered around, to have some points of interest.

Thanks for playing!

I can't say much here except watch what I said in my video. It was very unique and hard to explain what I saw. The visuals were nice but the gameplay was so confusing. I knew what to do kind of but it didn't make much sense as to why I was doing it.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, thanks for the feedback; I get what you're saying. It definitely would've been a bit clearer if I had been able to implement some of the features I was planning, but alas, it's a game jam :P

(The idea was to make a commentary on some of the greatest empires' falls due to division)

Once I beat the game, it made more sense, but that initial 5 minutes was just like "huh, what am I doing?" lol I loved the look of it, and it was definitely a very unique game concept, so nice work overall!

Such a different game. It took me a while to understand what I was supposed to do, but when I figured it out, I enjoyed it a lot. And the graphics and the sound effects are great. Good job!

Developer

Thank you!

It was soothing to be honest, you didn't really know what you're supposed to do except that you were supposed to move around, expecting for anything. Really unique idea!

Developer

Thank you!

Very unique experience. Everything is very thematically consistent and playing through this will give you a very distinct feeling that you won't get with most other submissions. It would be good to see some more mechanics at play to balance out the experience, but that might also take something away from this. I'd be curious to hear what other features fell out of scope for you while working on it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I had ideas for more empires, with a timeline that you would fill out as you completed the discovery of the empires. I would also have the empires fragment at the end, representing what happened historically.

I'm sure there's even more I could've done, but I knew I wouldn't have time for that, so I kept the scope small ;)

This game has a really nice, cohesive feel to it; everything's in theme. It's nice and relaxing to move through the map and uncover the different sections.  I could see this being really strong as a longer, more complex game, so I think what you have now is a glimpse into a beautiful game in the future. Really well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I appreciate the compliments.

I do have a vision for expanding the game...we'll see if I get around to it :)

A very weird but unique idea and concept. I liked the music. I didn't really understand what to do at first. I liked it. Good job!

Thanks for playing!

A really new and interresting concept. The vibe of it was so good with the music and the art style. Nice game!

Developer

Thanks, 1Laky!

A very unique idea. Maybe try adding some sort of gameplay mechanic instead of just moving the feather around and it would be better. I liked the art style and music very much!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Good feedback, and thanks for the gameplay video :)

It was quite a unique experience, very contemplative I would say? It took me some time to understand what I was supposed to do, though (I found the monghol empire first but stayed under the text sooo...)

Overal it's an interesting game with a strong aesthetic, and the music fits well.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, OddKey!

I like this, it was very interesting! Also very creative. It felt like an interactive book.

The only suggestion I can offer is making the feather faster!

I liked the poem at the end, too. It brought it together in a nice little bow.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and I appreciate your comments!

It's like a short poem from the world of games. We need more of this kind.

Developer

Thank you :)

I'm not sure what I just played, but it was definitely unique and had me intrigued. Got 98%. Kind of fun to discover new places, I could see this as a kid's game.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

If you'd like to see the final scene, the last 2% is probably Great Britain on the Roman map (upper left). I unfortunately made it very difficult to find :P

I played this and just got so unlucky that I went across the entire map lol. The game is so relaxing, with the ink trail you leave and filling in the map. I also like the sound it makes when filling in the map. Thanks for showing up to the stream today and helping me when I got lost!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed watching your stream.

Really liked the game - somehow it was relaxing to wander around the map

Developer

Great, thanks for playing!

Not sure wtf I just played or why I played it for almost an hour, but it was actually kind of fun XD

I found the first text, Didn't know you had to reveal something about it so I proceeded to keep exploring. Ended up finding the second one and exploring part of it by accident, realized what I was supposed to do, and explored everything, except for that circled part, didn't realize it was there. So I searched around for another one for a while but couldn't find anything. I happened to stumble upon the last part and finished the game. overall, 10/10, but I probably wouldn't play again XD.

(sadly, I can't add the image, so just pretend you see an image that looks like what I described XD)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

LOL thanks for playing! I really should've tweaked that Great Britain part...it even fooled me while I was testing xD

I'm glad you had a good time though. That final screenshot must have looked amazing!

Btw, I have your game on my "games to play" list. Looks fun!

It’s a beautiful map. The revealing mechanics worked well. The pen could travel a bit faster, i think

Thanks for playing and for the feedback, Struo!
