In what way does your game fit the theme?
You are making an ant empire (antpire) so the more ants you have the stronger you will be together.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All the assets (art, sound fx, music ) were made from scratch except for the text font and also all the code was written by me.

This was a cute little game. I really like the idea of creating an army of ants and I was unable to find any errors within the game
I enjoyed playing!
I did run into a bug where I had a negative amount of ants working XD. Luckily, it wasn't game-breaking. I also think there could be a bit more food on the map (I'm not sure if it was spawned in, or if the map was set up). Your graphics were great, and I liked how you did the foreground effect.
I don't think you normalized your movement, so I walked faster diagonally than straight.
The shop was a very nice, simple experience. I'm not sure what the "ant species" stat was for. Maybe it was the number of times I have evolved them?
The music worked well.
Great job!
Thanks for playing! The food spawns on the map so it is not set up. Also the ant species represents how many times you evolved your ants as you said :) Thanks for the feedback!
I love the concept of the game in general and I think the artwork gives it a cool vibe. There seem to be a lot of 'ant games' in this jam and I thought this was one of the best! Well done :)
I really love the music and art, the gameplay is good, I love this game, well done!
The music was great and I really liked the art and gameplay! I have surprisingly played a lot of games with ants as the theme for this jam, but liked this one the most. Great job!!
Cool game, it was fun. especially i liked the music!
I always wanted to create an ant game, but playing one was at least as good. Besides the bug with calling the other ants again, the gameplay is a nice idea. I like the way the art is made :)
nice game better than me....
Your game is also nice :)
Hello fellow ant gamer :D I liked your take on a harvesting system with helper ants being able to harvest while the player explores, and the ability to purchase upgrades providing a form of increasing ability. The music is really chill and positive too, I really liked it!
I did run into a couple bugs:
I'm also wondering what you were thinking for an ending? Would you go with time, points, or something else?
Slow start start at the beginning but after awhile it start to get more fun. I like what you done with the music and the art style is fits in with the game. It would be nice if there was a mini map because you get lost very easily in this game. Overall still a very fun game. Keep up the good work :D
I normally liked this game , but I would suggest to improve it little bid . Overall , this is a awesome game.
Great job on the game! It was really nice and soothing, especially the music :D
I think it'd be fun to add something that eats the ants (something you need to run away from)!

What I didn't like:
In closing:
Super slow start, I was just about to ragequit when I was like...well let's see what happens when I click on this thing...then I started clicking...and it was taking forever....I was about to ragequit again... but I stuck with it... glad I did. I think you need some food literally right in front of the starting point and gradually place the more valuables out far (which may have happened, but due to no mini map and me getting lost as soon as I started, it hurt me)
Overall though, it was pretty cool. Just need to fix all those issues I listed and this could be fun with more levels (or procedurally generated ones).
Wow this is the most fair rate. Thank you so much for every suggestion and feedback! I know there are lots of things to be fixed :) Thanks!
I really like it! The music is nice, and once you have gotten a few ant upgrades it becomes really satisfying to quickly gather food that used to take you a really long time. Something I think could be improved is food spawning more frequently. As of right now, it becomes a bit annoying to have to wander around for what seems like quite a while until you come across something else. Other then that, it's a really well-done game.
Nice little relaxing game, fits the theme really nicely. The music is really well made, and suiting for the game. It's fun to see your little colony grow, but I feel it becomes a bit too repetitive at some point. Another small thing is that the diagonal movement seems to be much faster than sideways. Other than that great job!
I like your idea. Searching around and assigning ants for work. It's chill at first. But I feel bored the more I played. When I upgraded the moving speed to 8/9, I can eat everything in a second, even a piece of bread(I guess it's the longest time required food?). And I don't have a goal. What should the player do when I get a lot of power? Maybe cutting the trees or crushing the rocks when I have so many ants.
Some advice for UIUX, telling the player available ants instead of working ants would help. Then, I no need to do the math assigning the ants.
BGM is great. It fits the vibe nicely. Except it is too short. So I feel it's repeating over and over.
Other than that, great entry. Well done!
Yes there are a lot of things that could be added to this game and also to be fixed but we didn't have time to make a full game in only a week. Thanks for the suggestions and the feedback :)
Chill game with no enemies, pretty fun to grind more ants and find food.
Only problem for me was the low amount of food and the progression as if you eat an apple you can get enough ants and upgrades to eat every other food in seconds.
And then the games becomes just searching like a detective for a potatoe or tasty red apple hidden in the corner of the map.
Anyway, great idea and chill atmosphere just needs a bit more tuning of the values.
Didn't really have time for testing that is why :)
Yeah, I know.. It's a jam after all. We didn't have the time too
btw I uploaded a game playthrough on our submission page so you can understand what the game is about
Cute little feel-good game that has some zen-like vibe to it in its serenity. The core mechanics work well, have to point out the nice tutorial at the start that was informative but stayed to the point, kudos on that! Played for some 15 minutes upgrading stuff, then ran out of food. Some pointers:
UI scales weird when fullscreen, also the upgrade window blocks the amount of money you have when open.
It's rather easy to get lost with no clear way to see where you have been to - perhaps a minimap or something?
This game was pretty fun to play!
One suggestion I have might be to match some of the sprites a bit more, mainly I'd say the character, as the character is just one solid color with a black/really dark outline, while the objects and such in the world have shading and don't have a black outline.
I'd also add a diagonal animation for the ant as it looks a bit awkward, but I'm guessing you've already heard that.
Last suggestion would be to add a slider or something for the call menu, as manually typing in the value every time and making sure it works gets pretty tedious.
By the way I was able to abuse that negative working ant glitch and got like -5000ish, and was able to get to the species level 15 pretty fast lol, so that was interesting.
Anyways the game was really fun to play, good job!
Thanks for playing! I know the game could be improved a lot and also that bug has to be fixed lol :)
This is one of those games that needed no explaining that it fits the theme, also the game had great mechanics and a good amount of polish, and a great experience overall! Good job, team!
