Ranked from 211 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
In this game your character throws potions that have random effects like duplicating an enemy or making it bigger and as the level progresses your character gets scared and throws potions more frequently so the level becomes very chaotic.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes all the code was made by us, and all the assets were made from scratch, the only piece of art that we didn't make was the main menu music, that came from a bundle we bought.

The best game in this jam. Full 5 stars 🌟. What I would suggest for improvement is polishing the graphics and adding details in the background. Superb game btw.

In short, the game is good, I can see what is my challenge, and after a few dies, I can figure out how to solve the challenge and get accomplishment.

I will first a) state out what happen and what I am thinking during my gameplay, and then b) suggests my opinions. Although it will mix up both minor and major things, hope it can help.

1a) Starting from the game, after I saw the WASD control, I simply tried to move and dropped to the ground, which makes the story description disappeared XD. 1b) I think it maybe better to make the first platform longer

2a) The next confusion I faced is the instruction pop out, as I am going straight, when the instruction popped out, it vanished quickly (since I am keep on going straight). as I assume the instruction will look like the starting point (after went away and vanished, it won't appear again). And for the next few spots, I also miss the instruction since I keep one running right straightly. At last, I finally figure out once I get close enough to the bookshelf, it will pop out. 2b) I think maybe the bookshelf is not standing out enough and I just treat it as the background, so I can't figure out it is an object that can interactive. Maybe design the bookshelf to be more outstanding or make some spot on the bookshelf so that the player can know player can interact with the bookshelf to get instruction?

3a) the main gameplay is good, at first I want to run as fast as I can before the panic goes to maximum, I will jump over them since it only takes one hit compared with normal knife. Then I just figure out the random potion thrown in random time just makes the enemy bigger/more can completely block my way. when the enemy gets to the 3rd larger size, I can't jump on them so I can only use the big sword to kill them, but it just works once. So, I will face to the left and wait for the potion to throw out and then I quickly goes to the right to kill them. Meanwhile, I also figure out the corresponding effects and color so I can predict a little bit earlier before the potion hits the enemy. Acquiring this skill, with total of 4 deaths in the last level and the second last level, I finally managed to complete the game. It is quite interesting and fun (seeing the knight gets smaller is cute and the big knight...also cute in other way? haha🐢

).

Pretty nice platformer, I like the graphics and 2.5D nature of it. My only real issues were that enemy attacks could really come out of nowhere and make it virtually impossible to dodge, and if an enemy walks into you they can melt your health extremely quickly, but overall good job! Feel free to check out my game as well.

Pretty interesting game. It's lacking a bit of polish but the main gameplay is fun and trying to work around the potions is an interesting challenge. Great job!

Nice job! The graphics are pretty nice, and I really like the panicked idea - it adds a whole other effect onto the game. You seemed to have used your time very well!

All that I can recommend to do after the jam, is to create more potion effects, it seems that all they do currently is change the enemies size. You could also add more enemy types, with different moves for them. Maybe more attacks the player can do to? Other than that, great job!

I'm trying to rate most games, so if you could rate mine that would be greatly appreciated!

For sure we'll keep your suggestions in mind and also thanks for the kind comments <3

I like your graphic and your idea is really cool! Throw potions to enemies is the real chaos 😂

It's a bit hard to jump with W key. But your game is still very fun. I love it :D

I really like the concept where the potions can cause the knights to change size randomly, its a really unique idea. The game was quite difficult though, especially having to jump to higher grounds. But overall, I enjoyed the game!

It's an interesting game! The panic stat can make the game very chaotic and hard. It was a very creative decision. The animation is surprisingly fluid and cool. The only issue is that I wish there was more types of enemies, or there was an indication when you would throw the potion bottles.

Thanks for the feedback we'll keep it in mind, and also thanks for the kind comments <3

A very innovative idea that I haven't seen before. I just feel like the duplicating potion caused some balancing issues at times that made it hard to play but overall a very great idea that would work wonders with some more polish.

Great job! The art was cool too, the main reason I clicked!

If you have another person and a controller available to plugin please check out my game!
