I did all the code, music, and some of the pixel art. I only use the bullet and explosion animation from free itch.io asset store.

For a first public game ever made solo and a first jam, this is quite an interesting topic to touch upon and it is quite well executed! As a long time solo dev and new streamer, everything in the story is so relatable! I am so happy that you proposed this for my stream, because every creator can relate to this.
As for the game mechanics itself, it is quite simple and there isn't too much to do apart from breaking blocks (and shooting bugs off xD) but I think this game is more for the story than the gameplay itself, which, in the context of this game's story, is a good way to approach it. Start with untextured graphics, bring demotivation cubes then finish off the game with finished up blocks!
Congrats on your first game and your first jam too! A game in a week is definitely not easy!

LabocalypseI wish I could shoot lasers at video game bugs in real life :c, but one can only dream haha .
The game is pretty good, the explosion effects are awesome and the music ramping up feels grate. I would say maybe the game could use a life system because sometimes it felt frustrating just touching one enemy and dying, but that might be because I'm bad haha, but overall very fun game and cool story :D
