In what way does your game fit the theme?
The theme was "Let There Be Chaos". In our game, you run around as a child in a grocery store destroying the shelfs and eating candy. Quite chaotic!

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
90% of the code yes. Libraries such as DoTween was used as well.
Visual assets were all hand drawn except for the particle effect around the player and mother characters. Those were from the Epic Toon Effect Asset Pack
All SFX were made from scratch. Music was custom composed.

Nice Art and UI. Good job!

Very short cute little game! I had some issues with getting stuck on weird hitboxes and the dash is very fussy when it comes to how much build up is needed to smash shelves but otherwise yeah! just a simple n cute fun little game for sure.

Nice concept and I like the art style!

I imagine a lot of work went into making the game look this good and it payed off!!! Really cool!

A very fun game, I loved the animations for the player, i did find the dash a bit inconsistent to use but other than that it was a very neat game  :)

I really like the hand drawn style and the game was fun to play. The movement can feel a bit strange when dashing but for the rest, very good game!

'This is so cool' - says my brother. I bit of context, my brother is SUPER picky on what he likes to play, and as soon as he saw me playing this, he jumped at the occasion the play it. And my opinion doesn't differ much from his.

It was a super fun game to play. And the art was incredible. I loved the hand drawn art, it added a wonderful vibe to the game.

I just have a one main complaint, the difficulty is extremely challenging, it might just be that I suck at video games. I would suggest maybe adding a bit of difficulty for those that struggle with the game a bit.

But, nether the less. For a game created in 7 days, its super fun. I might have struggled a bit, but it was fun. And that's more important. Congrats! :)

Thank you so much for trying out the game and writing a review! We had to make some sacrifices to manage the game in just 7 days, but still it was super fun to make, and the fact that you and your brother enjoyed it is what makes all the work worthwhile for us :)

I love the graphics, the responsiveness, there's great sfx there. It would be nice if there were multiple maps and I would personally like it if there was more than 4 directional movement because the movement kind of feels awkward for me.

Funny and Creative game. Loved the art. One of my favorites!

Jumping on the comment by Bravehearte, I was also caught by Mom out of nowhere. I love the idea of wreaking havoc by causing a mess inside the store. It was so fun!

Developer

Hey! This might be that when the time runs out the same "Game Over" screen shows where the mom has caught the child! As talented as our artist was, we simply didn't have enough time to make another "Game Over" screen to fit the time running out!

I can relate to the plot of this game all too well.. :')

I loved the concept for the game and though you executed it really well! It feels really satisfying to smash into those shelves and escape the mom. I you chose to expand upon this I think having different kinds of objects in the level would give it more depth. Maybe spills that cause the player to trip, or shopping carts that when dashed into can roll into employees? This concept has a lot of potential!

I encountered some bugs, such as randomly being caught by the mom and dashing into shelves not always breaking them. They're not bad enough to deter from the rest of the game, though.

Awesome job!

Simple but yet very fun, I felt it could have a diagonal movement as well, would increase the freedom of the player.

Aside that I was caught by Mom but she was on the other side of the screen, cant say if it was a bug or there was a second Mom there and I didnt saw hauhah

Developer(+1)

Hey! Time was short and we had to make sure the essentials are done first so we didn't have time to add mechanics for diagonal movement. Also, regarding the mom catching you, that might've been the time running out! They have the same "Game Over" screen so it can be confusing (also, not enough time to make multiple screens). Thank you so much taking the time to play!

Ahh nice, it was that them. Thanks for clarifying. yeah, indeed time was very crucial in this Jam, all of us wanted some more minutes to polish, but that is how it works xD

Submitted(+4)

Ooh, i have a soft spot for hand drawn art...

Submitted(+3)

Yeah,  I am too, the hand draw here is very well made
