In what way does your game fit the theme?
The chaos originates from multiple inputs. The game takes inputs from the keyboard, but also takes place in an environment scattered with keys, which also serve as inputs if touched.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, everything was handcrafted during the game jam

Loved the idea. Super funny and creative. I did get stuck on the gap by killing the skeleton and not making the jump the first time but I laughed so hard with the objects on the "epic gamer"'s desk. I absolutely loved your mechanic.
Took me by surprise completely. Loved every detail and stepping on the broken keys was just pure genius! Just saw on the game page you even planned to alt+tab the game with the keys, if that was added my mind would've been blown even harder.
One of my favorites so far, you need to make more :) and if you ever decide to pursue this idea and more features, I would love to try a longer version of it.
Congratulations, lots of praise completely deserved! (And your sense of humor is top of the line).
Really nice game! a short intro for controls could be helpful, I wasn't sure if there is a way to attack or not. Also as others have mentioned, I too have defeated the big skeleton and were unable to continue due to the gap being too wide and without a double jump on the skeleton its impossible.
Thanks. Yeah, figuring out how to balance the controls was difficult, since we wanted it to be both a tool and a hazard. Basically, it wouldn't be a tool if you can also just press the key yourself.
Also, we know of the skellie and the only way to overcome it is to reload the game. We originally wanted to reload the scene on death but this messed with the checkpoints and some other stuff. Basically, we hoped not too many people would encounter this error :p
Landing on that spacebar inbetween the spikes was difficult but fun! Great job 😁
Nice, the 3D assets there were very well made.
For somewhat reason, I could not pass through the great gap where the giant skull were. I defeated him and come back, after that I could not pass anymore without reseting the game and respawning the giant skull.
Art style is so perfect, you are combined 2d and 3d. But I can not resume game when boss death. You should reset game on death and checkpoints.
Thanks, the art style was a very deliberate choice and took a lot of time so im glad to hear its appreciated. Yeah, the plan was initially to reload the scene upon death but this messed with some things like checkpoints and scaling on main character (he changes scale and some other stuff when you exit the dungeon). We basically just hoped most people wouldn't notice this issue
DUDE THIS GAME IS GENIUS! i don' know what to say, that's just fantastic. "rated #1 for single men" we have the same broken humor... congrats
I like the whole idea of the game, purposely dying to complete the game and using the physical keys to do things in the game (Like the alt + f4 part). The mousepad was a nice touch too
I have to be completely honest. Going into this game, my exact reaction was "oh, another game jam platformer that's going to be... ok, and not really fit the theme." At first, I thought it was just that. Then I died on the first level, the text popped up, and when it reloaded I just kind went "woah". That was amazing! I love the chaos implementation, and the way that it closes the game at the end w alt f4 is so funny. Fantastic job!
I'd appreciate it if you could check out my game, Pandamonium!
Very original take on the theme and great visuals, if there is one thing I'd have to say it would be that the environment felt a bit clunky, my character got stuck a couple of times
Thanks man! Well, we started brainstorming about chaos and ways to introduce chaos into our game. We figured we could mess with the control scheme and do stuff like randomize the controls at intervals or having more actions than keys to bind them to. Eventually this idea just came up and we both liked it. We had more ideas like messing with other buttons like pause or volume but lacked time to properly implement those. Glad to hear that you liked it!
Amazing, standing on the "single man" stuff was a really cool effect.
