How does you game fit the theme?
The game takes place inside a simulation and also includes elements that act real, but are shown to be not later on.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code in the game, and followed a few tutorials. Most of the textures, music, and sound effects were pulled from other sites.

Definitely my favorite of the puzzle games this jam and honestly of most jams I've done.  It had an interesting setup and some interesting puzzles with little tidbits keeping me searching for a way to break all of them.

Especially with the cube room and all the time I spent there, was quite a lot of fun seeing what I could bug out with all the physics objects.  There were quite a lot of times that I just spent all my time looking through all the rooms, checking all the walls, checking with the cube etc. etc..  Lots of fun with that.

One thing that was definitely nice was the fact that the character controller gave a lot of interesting mobility options compared to what I expected.  Though, not a lot of situations to use it, since it is a puzzle game.  But it was interesting to see nonetheless.

Overall though an absolutely incredible puzzle game in my opinion.  Simple game design with an interesting story and narration to keep it going.

Thank you for the long review and playing the game on stream! It was very entertaining to see how you were solving the puzzles!

Really cool vibe! I loved the lighting and the minimal feel. It also kind of reminded me of the Backrooms, have you ever heard of that? You could totally do a cool Backrooms game I feel like. My only setback, was the jump felt a little forceful at times, and I feel the game could use more frequent checkpoints. I found myself going a little further back than I wanted a handful of times. But really cool game overall!

Really like the look and feel of the game

This was a great experience! I love the idea of being in a simulation and the fact that you managed to pull this off in one week is just amazing! Great work!

The game feels very nice to play. The puzzles and platforming were nothing ridiculous and difficult, and the overall atmosphere of the game felt great. It's fairly short though, and reliant on atmosphere rather than gameplay. Still, very solid game!

Nice one. Pretty good 3d grafics and cool mechanic with the cube. Also a really nice fit to the team! I would probably improve the movement a bit in order to make platforming easier and not be as frustrating when you fall down in the lava ;)

I enjoy puzzles thus i also had fun playing your game!

Also as other mentioned, the great Portal vibe - loved it. I appreciate how i kind of get into the flow and drawn into the content willing to finish - great job on that! Capturing the players attention and dedication, i think it is important :)

Very cool game wich gave me a portals vibe. Very good executed. Having to watch the intro all over again is a bit frustrating, but that's easily fixed. Congrats to your game!

I don't know if it just me, but this game gave me some serious "Valve-like" vibe, which is awesome. The music, grabbing objects, puzzles, story and plataforming are all really well made!

Oh, and as stated by others, it would be nice to be able to skip the texts after you've already read them. But don't worry, there is no way I would remove a whole star from this just because of such minor thing!

This game was very immersive and I loved it, thank you for the experience!

TL;DR for reviewers: If you're a browser-only gamer, I highly recommend you to make this game an exception.

I think the overall design and polish is excellent. I would maybe suggest that the room resetting after a death is not as long as the initial viewing. It's quite frustrating to listen to the narrator again if I just missed a jump.

Submitted

A bit long to get started, but decently fun once you got going.

"It will make things difficult"

Imma try that out! Instant regret haha

Apart from the rather long and unskippable intro, the game's puzzle and platforming was quite enjoyable. Good work!

Well done mate - cleared initial levels.

It was fun - a little scary - yet enjoyable. Well done.

"Dont fall...it will make things diffcult..."

*Me proceeds to fall anyways just to check if death is real in simulation..lol

This game is so much fun! I wish I could play more levels. I'll just suggest that when you die, you don't have to read the entire explanation again and wait too long to try the level again.

Developer(+1)

Definitely some good suggestions, I'll take note of this in the future.
Thanks for playing!
