How does you game fit the theme?
The game is quickly controlled by your computer, who tries to convince you to forget about this numeric fake world and go back to the real world to do some productive activities and see your friends.
Will he manage to get you out of the game ? Will he change his mind ?

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I did not have a lot of time, so I unfortunately couldn't do the player controller script, and I also used some assets for the sprites and the sounds. All of the assets are mentioned in the credits !

great game but I felt like the camera was to close, great take on the theme , the audio and the graphics were well done too

holy moly, that is difficult, but i bet not that difficult as my game xD mine is liturally impossible

Very challenging platformer. Wasn't able to get past the rising acid section, but the level design is really solid.

The acid section in particular is really unforgiving, because it seems like you'll never have enough time to get past the jump-activated platforms if you don't clear every obstacle on its first cycle.

I think I would have preferred it if the sections with checkpoints were broken up into individual levels. It's a little hard to celebrate after beating a hard section when you're immediately thrown into another one. It would also help with replayability.

Wow, this one was a real gem. Great work on the mechanics, and especially great work on the story. Simply awesome! The game had a nice feel to it, and even if the game was designed to make me ragequit, it kept me immersed.

The only thing I would consider adjusting is the camera. With the camera always centered on the player, it can get disorienting during the fast-paced platforming. I'd recommend adding a bit of a dead zone (maybe with cinemachine) to ground it a bit.

But still, I'm very impressed by this game. Great narrative, progression and overall experience!

Very difficult, but the graphics and the audio were great!

Developer

Yes it's pretty hard, I knew that everyone would not necessarily be able to finish it ^^'

Thank you ! :D

Lovely game, but very hard!

Developer

Thank you ! :)

I was very amused that my computer is already sick of playing platformers, the plot has made me fall in love with it. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much ! Really glad you loved the dialogs, I put a lot of effort into this ^^

Awesome game design! Although it's "just another platformer" (as my PC said :) ) it's a polished one, so kudos to that!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hahaha thank you a lot mate ^^

Your game is REALLY awesome too :D

Nicely done! The story at the beginning is a nice touch.

I'll go outside now to enjoy some sun ;)

Developer

Haha I'm glad if you can enjoy real life and digital life, both have some great things to share :)

The game is a simple platformer but really the challenge you threw at me was a surprise. Maybe after the jam I'll try to complete it. Very fun overall!

Developer

Yes it's pretty hard haha, it serves the story ^^

I would love it if you do it after the jam ! :D be sure to give me your feedback if you do ^^

I'm sorry, I own a Mac so I can't play this entry.

I apologise, but good luck in the jam!

This game has awesome graphics and sound design, I love the personality and use of reverse psychology!

It did start off really hard like the text warned me about, but I felt compelled to try and try after dying countless times which is a good thing on your part.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much ! I'm really glad you enjoyed the links between the dialogs and the gameplay ! I put a lot of effort into that ! ^^

Great idea, great game and good story overall !

The skeleton that we play is mega cute but I'm glad that he's already a skeleton, when I see the number of times I died playing this game

The gameplay is simple, but it just works so well, great work, but I didn't except less from you !

It just feels a bit weird when you jump, it is a bit hard to keep track on the obstacle with the sudden camera movement but it doesn't alter the quality of the game !

Also, I hope that I'll be part of the playtesting for your next games, but I'll forgive you on this one.

Keep it up ♥

Developer

Thank you so much bro

Don't worry for the playtest, I reserve only the best games for you <3

the skeleton is cute and the game itself is fun. The option that allows player to swing the cage and escape and continue to play is a great idea. I think the movement is a little bit too fast compared to other general platformer game I played before.

Developer

Thank you for your feedbacks !

I admit that I did not have much time to polish the movement mechanic, that would indeed need some revisions ^^'

This was such a good awesome game! I couldn't get too far because I'm not very good at platformers, but that is 100% on me! The art was super cute, and I actually laughed a lot with the computer's lines! Damn it and its 404 error screens!!! ò -ó9

But this looks amazing as far as I got!! Splendid job on it!!

Developer

Thank you so much ! I put a lot of effort in the story, so the fact that you appreciated the jokes and all is really appreciated ^^

Awesome game. Almost fishy that you managed to do this much in 7 days. 🤔

I really enjoyed the art style, looked really insane! And I bet if you would take more time and polish things out, it could be its own standalone steam game!

Some bugs i noticed, right in the start menu, there seems to be some z-flittering, and when you get jailed, you press escape and go back to the game, you can freely move around with an invisible hitbox, so you can just jump thought fire and everything without caring about nothing xD

All together, it is a solid game, I generally enjoyed the first few moments, reminded me of "There is no Game" :D Great job!

Developer

I definitely did all of this within 7 days ! I used Tarodev's player controller to have more time to focus on the story and the obstacles though, so this helped me gain quite some time ! Yet it also led to some boring bugs, because I struggled to understand some parts of his script ^^'

The z flittering in the menu was desired (I think) ! That was to show that the computer had already started to take control of the game :D

The jail bug, though, was absolutely not desired and is pretty boring as it completely prevents the player from triggering the rest of the stage's mechanics...

Thank you a lot for your review ! I will probably consider polishing it more and creating more stages to eventually publish it on steam, I would love it ^^ you could definitely do the same :p
