How does you game fit the theme?
The game's premise is that a child is helping a talking bee recover magic crystals for the Bee Kingdom. However, this is "not real", because [spoilers].

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything except for the font, which is "Press Start 2P" by Codeman38

I loved everything. only thing I would have wanted was combo points when jumping on multiple enemys without touching the ground. good job.

Cute Mario inspired game! The bee is a nice companion :) The music is great too.

Ok this was really fun! The spin jump was a pleasant surprise - it felt really good and the spacing of the levels for it was great. It almost gave me Sonic vibes with the sense of momentum from it.

Also, the music slaps??

Really great work! I would say that if you added a little coyote time to ledges, the jumps would feel impeccable. Great work!

That was a pretty nice platformer. The controls and movement feel good which makes trying to speedrun the levels quite fun! The sprint jump is fun to use especially. Only thing I'd like to see changed is being able to change directions when sprinting. Other than that though, good job!

Really fantastic jumping when running animation :D I loved in level 2 the multiple mushroom jumps in a row!

Awesome game! Movement is really good, jump also, as jumping on enemy too! I am great fun of Mario-like games, and this one was perfect!

Rated - hope you had a nice time with the Jam!

Very nice game! I loved the throwback to early Mario games. Really cool design and nice game mechanics with the ability to run and jumpf further.

Genuinely the best controlling platformer I've played so far in the jam! The controls and physics both felt super smooth, akin to a good SNES or PS1 game. The music was also stellar; I really appreciate there being unique tracks for each level. The art was good for the most part. My only criticisms in that regards are that some of the animations could be expanded upon, as well as the level backgrounds. But still, this is a great title that deserves praise for how fun and fleshed out it is!

Really solid platformer, button placement for controls i found that sprint on x key a little confusing but luckily there was no real need to press forward or back and sprint at the same time, level design was awesome, the Boss fight was Challenging but fair.

How did you get the bounce on the mushrooms so consistent? was it coded or settings on the Rigidbody, or a material?

great job and awesome fun !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. The key bindings seem to be a common issue...

The mushroom bounce is hard coded. Whenever the player character detects a collision with a mushroom, a set upward velocity is applied to it. Then it stops checking for collisions with mushrooms for the next couple of frames (to account for the frames it takes for the player and mushroom to stop touching).

It was a great experience. A really straightforward platformer just how we all love. I found the controllers a bit weird because of the enter to sprint but anyhow i enjoyed so much

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback. If you don't mind me asking, what would you have preferred for the sprint key?

I am an old dog that used to play with a lot of emulator on pc so for this kind of game i would preffer the movement on the arrow keys and the actions with 'Ctrl', Spacebar, alt, z,x kind of inverted of what you did. maybe it is just a picky comment by my side jeje

Incredible Game! And was not expecting the ending! Loved the sound and the sprint jump. Especially loved the Chained Mushroom bounce in level 2. Very Creative!

THIS WAS SO CUTE AAAAAAAAA! I loved the sound design especially! The little retro sounds were perfect, and the music was really bouncy and fun! That ending had me and my friends shocked! The art is really cute, and the references to old games were really charming! And oh my gosh the spinning jump was incredible XD Amazing work! This was a really solid jam entry!

it was so fun actually. I loved the sound and animation for when we jump while we sprint. I think if it had even a simple background it would look so much better.
