How does you game fit the theme?
The enemies are shadowpeople and aren't real and can't hurt you. All a figment of the players imagination, created by the stress of being alone deep in a forest.
The ending though, might suggest that in fact, nothing you're experiencing is real
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all the code, but most assets aren't made by us, but they've been credited in the description and in the readme.

Great game, I love it! Really amazing graphics and atmosphere!
I just rated your game, maybe you can do the same on mine ^_^
Rated !!! would you kindly rate mine too!?, I'd really appreciate it if you do, Thanks!
here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1415313
Loved the creepy, unsettling atmosphere. You did a great job with the PS1-style graphics, and the sound design was very well done, too. Would have loved to see a bit more gameplay since I was so intrigued by the setting, but this is still really impressive for the time you had to make it!
thank you so much, it’s so appreciated! i’m glad you liked the vibes <3
This was pretty damn good. The graphics especially, the mood, and even the map you wandered were excellent. Even the theme helped make this even more mysterious.
The gameplay however fell a bit short. Not only was there only 1 type of shadowpeople, and as thus 1 type of non-threat, they also apparated through floors, which kind of broke the horror mood of it for me as I was laughing for them to come above the ground so I could vanquish them. Additionally, the road was long, so I kind of expected some kind of variation.
Other than that I enjoyed it, definitely one of the better done spoopier submissions. Even the title is spoopy.
Thank you so much, and thank you for the feedback!
Yeah we weren't able to do as much playtesting and bugfixing and tweaking as we wanted to, mostly due to time constraints and illnesses, but all of this feedback is super helpful! We'll take it with us untill next game (or tweak and update this one in the future, who knows
This is super helpful to a baby gamedev, thank you so much!
super valuable feedback for sure, thank you so much for taking the time! viltnemda needs you <3
I'm a big fan of the graphics and I think the flashlight mechanic was really well executed!
thank you for the kind words, i’m glad you liked it! <3
Your graphics are just crazy! I loved it so much.
Thank you so much! I'm glad the style came through!
I really liked the art style, nice game!
Thank you! :D
Your game is good ! I was scared lol ! But I think the enemies need change to be more scaring !
Will you mind to have a rating for my game? You will love it!
Thank you so much! I agree!
Love it. Very spoopy. Don't think I've played a game with this mechanic since Alan Wake.
Thanks!
Me neither! and what a great game that is :D
The sound design was really great! We loved that it was all directional so you could tell where the monsters were coming from. Nicely done!
Thank you! I sat for hours just tweaking how far away you should be able to hear them from! Semi-happy with the result, but it does the job very well so I'm super happy with it!
Thank you so much :)
The atmosphere created with the graphics and the sound were fantastic, and the build up to the final fireplace gave for some eerie vibes. The ending was trippy, but I was hooked. Nice job!
Thank you so much! Spent a lot of time trying to get the leveldesign just right. Glad you liked it!
The level and sound design were great. Gave me some inspiration for my own projects. The gameplay was meh, not really much danger so the guys weren't very scary, just annoying.
thank you so much for playing, and for the feedback <3
Thank you!
Wow really good job with the atmosphere. I love the old ps1 era style. Even though you did not make the assets, you made really good use of them. The creatures are cute but I liked to keep a distance.
yeah they're cuter at a distance <3 thanks for playing!
Pretty awesome how you were able to see the fire in the distance on the mountain and progressed upwards towards it--very atmospheric. I love horror games with a good atmosphere, awesome job :)
Thank you so much! I spent sooooooooo long making sure the forest felt just right. Thank you so much!
This game is the closest looking similar to mine so far, so I had to play it :) Also, rated, pretty good atmosphere. I did find the sound of the creatures cute though!
Thank you so much! Really? I had nightmares about it after listening to it for hours LOL
Thanks for playing!
Shadow people took my hands, but luckily I can type with my nose....
So glad you took "It is not real" to a horror place, love horror, especially your style of 3D exploration!
We had so much fun with the setting, thank you so much!
also don't worry, hands grow back, or so I've heard
Shadowpeople ate my liver. But not before I ignited them like a magnesium rod. This was glorious, thank you!
your liver is theirs now, forever
Thanks so much!
fun game, very spook! love the graphics, really gives you a nostalgic feel!
I dont know what happened at the end, but I loved the atmosphere 100%. Visually, it's beautiful :D
Thank you so much! We spent like 60% of the jamtime making the enviroments just right lol
Thanks for playing! :D
very nice game! loved the atmosphere, sounddesign and the flashlight mechanic. 10/10 would be chased by endermen again
