How does you game fit the theme?
the player is not alone in circumstances that would make him believe he is. the game forces the player to interact with other alien species that may or may not be friendly
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code was made by us but some assets were made using generators.
Love the game, it reminds me of Galaga and Asteroids. Managed to complete it, but never did find any gold to trade. Was fun!
Space is really wellmade in this game, also planets and friendly planets. And a lonely journey to the Earth. Good idea and awesome job!
It was nice to see the loneliness of drifting through space to get home. The particles are beautiful! Nice game!!
I got eaten by a black hole :( I was so close to my destination too!
A fun game! It would be cool to move the stars slower (or faster) than the background to get a parallax effect. This could improve the feel of the game.
Awesome game! The explosion effect is really cool and satisfying, and flying in space is fun! :D
I was able to play for some time before game freezed and i can point out few things. I like the art and gameplay, but i think you should keep single pixel size for everything in future. Overall good job!
Awesome game! I love the art style and those tiny particle effects. Maybe change some of the font colors as they are not registering well on the screen. Other than that, I enjoyed exploring and playing the game. Good job!
I like style of this game. Gameplay is nice. if it's no secret did you use this asset for the planets?)
Thank you for the review! and its not a secret no we disclose the fact we used some generators in the questionaire section. However, we used This Asset from Deepfold not the one you linked
The game feels really nice to play.
I hope there is some indication to which planets are friendly and which I can obliterate since I was trying so hard to destroy a planet not sure why it wasn't doing anything then moved a bit closer and realized they talking to me😂
also, the text on top of the planets is super hard to read, maybe work around with the colors to make it stand out more .
Idk if it was intended for shooting and moving to be this way, it adds a layer of difficulty to the game since in most cases you get hit to be able to shoot.
All in all, it's a really good game, and the art is so good.
Good job!
Thank you for the Kind Review!
Vendor / Friendly planets always have yellow aliens. That is the main way to tell that they're friendly.
Agreed we wanted to change the font before the end but unfortunately we didnt have the time probably something we should have done.
moving was intended to be the way it is. We wanted a layer of realism as the ship can only move forwards and even when moving backwards its super slow. Combat had some plans like Shields and Rockets but the time limit again it limits what we can do.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!
Loved the game! I like the art style and the gameplay felt great! Sad though that you can't destroy friendly planets... :D Good Job!
Overall, I thought this was a fun game with a cool idea behind it and also fit with the theme nicely. I liked the mix of combat, exploration, collection and trading which made the gameplay quite interesting. Also, the art is fantastic (especially with the planets).
The one thing I'll point out is some portions of the text blending in with the colour of the planet depending on where you approach it from which made it a little bit difficult to read.
Other than that, great game!
Great game! Planets look amazing, so do the ships. It was very interesting to explore this world, and the game has a lot of potential!
Shooting and moving is not an easy maneuver in this game, so it was hard to try to avoid enemy projectiles while shooting at them. I guess it would be nice to change the movement somehow (I like when the movement is more inertial in space games and you can release buttons and still move for some time), or to add shields to sustain some counter attacks from enemies.
Also, I think black holes should start to attract your ship from a greater distance but slower.
Thank you for the kind words! we also think it has a lot of potential and are most likely going to keep working on it after the jam. Agreed with the shooting. we had a few plans to try spice it up but unfortunately the time limit stopped us. Shields were one of those ideas.
And yes there is inertia however its reduced a decent amount to what it should be in a space game due to us wanting easy controls for everyone as well as trying to manage the fuel count is a big part of the game so we dont want the player to be able to travel too far with little boost.
Thats a good suggestion for the black holes will definitely consider that!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!
Very fun game, i like how we can explore while we battle and trade along the way, it's an interesting idea. The graphic and sounds make a good atmosphere, but the text was a bit confusing.
The gameplay is good. Combat is nice too, but i feel that it's not very dynamic.
Overall i really enjoyed it, great work!
Amazing looking Earth. I really enjoyed exploring this world. I like that the indicator tells me the general direction of my goal, but I feel like I was able to get to it without any interaction with the alien planets. And once I'm facing the big guy it's hard to move out of the way while aiming at it, so I just end up spam clicking and hoping that it dies without me taking too much damage. Overall I think it's a fun game and I really appreciate just being able to move around without much hassle unlike a lot of space games.
Very cool game! I liked the idea of going around trading/battling in space! Also, the menu was mad nice, I didn't understand at first and pressed mouse to check, and hit the Start asteroid.
Managed to get to my planet on the third try, I guess the damage upgrade one planet can give really makes it easier to just go around blasting everyone.
The combat was alright, though due to aiming with the mouse to move I felt like I had to always become an easy target in order to engage other ships, so combat felt less dynamic, we'd just face each other shooting and hoping the other one dies first. Might have been by design, but I think a more action paced combat would suit the game!
I felt some of the sound effects could have been more "powerful", like the planet explosion and the other ships firing. The music when you engage into trading with a planet though was neat!
Regarding the visuals, the background and planets are very nice, though I found the font a bit confusing when it explained your backstory, some words seemed to close to others. Also, on some of the clearer planets, if the merchant text appeared above the planet it become nearly unreadable.
Really cool game and it feels like it has a lot of room for expansion!
Space games are always amazing but this one really stands out! The visuals and sound design create an immersive atmosphere and make the game well polished.
I also like that most stuff is randomised so you can replay it multiple times with a new experience.
