This was really fun and unique

This was a fun little game! I liked the ghosts randomly helping me and the character design was nice!
I would however like some way to see how far i am in the game, or how many waves I have left.

Visually I would also suggest sticking to one sprite/graphic style, instead of resizing sprites and using different sources!

Well done!

The latter waves spam the same ennemies 100x times and use the same kind of ghost at wave 4.

Also, the ennemies sprites looks really weird compared to the game.

The game was fun to play! The only thing I wish for - some sense of progress. Would be cool to have some wave counter and/or charater leveling.

pretty cool game. I realy liked how the ghosts would help the player kill the enemies. pretty cool

Cool story, atmospheric music. I liked it!

Super fun game, really good entry.

Music was neat and the combat felt smooth and rewarding.

Touching intro at the start too for the story, loved it!

The combat was really good in this game!

Awesome combat system and fits the theme very well!

I enjoyed the “UARGH” sound!

Really nice entry. Great idea to have the two passive helpers. The monsters had fun and unique designs.

Neat game and very pleasant to play. Enemies are original with nice animations.

I like the principle of the genie who comes to help us regularly. At the beginning it's fun and his help becomes precious and indispensable in the higher waves!

The little kill cam at the end of the wave is the kind of detail that adds a real touch to the game.

All this in one week, congratulations!

Hi Nizbel! Nice to see you in another jam! And with a team! Congrats to all of you for finishing your game.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started playing your game. The tidy little story hook with the spirits fighting alongside you as a reveal played out really nicely for a jam game. I had an audible "oh, cool" moment when the ghosts joined the fight. Well done!

Is this game endless? It felt a little slow to build up, introducing enemies what felt like infrequently. I would have been nice to see a slightly shorter experience with a more defined end, but I understand jam timelines. Still a cool experience.

The combat felt a tad clunky and mostly because of the sword delay on swing. That's tough to get the hit animations right because the blade needs to have finished swinging by the time the player lifts their finger. Tough to get to feel right for a jam!

Well done everyone. Keep making games!

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback!

The game is endless as of now, we planned a good ending after a few waves, the warrior would have finished the fight and the spirits wanted him to go on with his life. So the player could decide if he wanted to keep on playing to see  how much he'd last. But we ran low on time.

The enemy spawning became a tad irregular since we fiddled with the difficulty near the end, we were afraid it could be too hard and people would get frustrated and not even see all the ghosts.

It was a bit hectic, especially near the end, since I hadn't worked with a team on a game for many years, but we managed to implement most of the ideas!

I like that you added sound when the enemies die, the animations... well done. All the best!

I really had fun! The combat system is really good - and I love the animations! Graphics are amazing. It would be nice to collect points after killing enemies - then buy a weapon for longer range. Nice job!

Ties in well with the theme and the ghosts are useful in the combat too. I can see this being expanded into a proper game

I had a lot of fun with this. It was a little on the easy side, but I spent so much more time playing this than I spent with submissions that were too far in the direction of difficult. I think you did the right thing erring on this side of the difficulty scale, and games are hard to get balanced right in such a short time. I eventually got to the point where difficulty seemed to have stopped scaling up, so I let myself die at 13 waves defeated.

The art and animations were great. Their styles weren’t super cohesive, but it looks like several people worked on them, so that’s understandable. The intro sequence was nicely done, and just as long as it needed to be. Great game guys. And also props on getting something across the goalpost with such a large team, that’s not easy to manage.

Hey, I really like this ! :D

The dash and the finishing blow a la Skyrim was a nice touch to an already good looking game, despite the lack of cohesion between sprite resolution :)

Also, it felt really cool when you got helped by ghosts ! (You especially come to love the cook way really fast xD)

I was just a bit confused at what the Napstablook looking fellow was doing. Sometimes, he seemed to scare the enemies, and sometimes attack them. Does he do both ? D:

I was also wondering ; is there an end, or is it an infinite wave massacre ? x) Because I did like 10 waves after the last type of enemies (the red one) was introduced x)

Also, music was really nice :)

Overall, a charming experience, also due to the fact that the cutscene, even if it has a simple storytelling, has a nice impact ! :D

Oh hey, glad you liked it! The last ghosts that appear (Napstablook fellows) are supposed to randomly attack or scare enemies! Sort of like poking them and scaring, or actually hurting them. Though they were implemented like 3 hours to the deadline so I can understand it being confusing.

The original idea had an ending in mind, as if you avenged your village and could now try to live your life in peace. But we'd give the player the option to keep on fighting infinitely. But... we ran out of time.

Very interesting and cool graphics, however I would like to see a bigger variety of enemies

Incredible GFX and music, it feels like you really are fighting alongside the ghosts. The only limiting factor is how repetitive it seems, as it is the same enemies and same weapon. Some variations, boosts, more enemies, bosses, etc... would make the game feel more varied. I also found it quite easy to cheese, but quite relaxing and the atmosphere is perfect! The zoom at the end of each wave is a great finish as well!
