Its a really interesting concept but it could use a few improvements, I wouldnโt mind more projectiles but making them slower and easier to dodge would help, larger maps with more room to run and dodge I guess, and yeah some towers were out of view in the embedded player (I think your camera aspect ratio and canvas resolution ratio are different) Great work over all though! it is a simple and challenging game
Great game and great graphics. Sometimes I am not sure why the bombs are exploding before I expect it but overall very good job.
Once the turrets came in this (basically after the tutorial levels) this became really fun and challenging!! The use of the 10sec wick was a clever way to include the theme. Great job!!
I had a lot of fun with this game and played it through the end. It felt like a really satisfying mix of puzzler and bullet hell. My moment was in the stage that looks like a fort (not sure what number it was), when I realized I could go around and blow up the back wall instead of trying to charge through the front.
I was surprised at first by the music, since it seemed at odds with the very cartoony graphics. But as I played more, I liked the vibe it gave; together with the somewhat fiendish expression on the bomb and the simple instruction "destroy", it made me feel like a very sinister force.
My problem was that I felt the rest of the audio really clashed with the music. This was especially grating during the sound that plays when you lose a level, which was extremely dissonant when it overlapped with the music. I really did not like hearing the loss sound.
The win sound was similar, but it was much shorter (and I heard it considerably less often, haha) so it wasn't as bothersome to me. Beyond that, sounds that weren't necessarily discordant with the music, such as the bomb explosion, still just felt like they were stylistically opposed to the music, though they did seem to fit the cartoony graphics.
Despite that, I still had a great time with the game! It was a really satisfying and unique experience that stayed fun and fresh for me throughout the game. I also thought it was really easy to get into, and never got too frustrating even though I found some of the levels to be pretty tricky. Great work!
I really loved the reverse tower defense approach! Game feels really polished and audio is really good. Level design is really great. My only nitpick would be for that dying sound to be a little lower in volume, 'cause I heard it a lot of times. :D
But that's a minor thing. Overall, really fun game and I enjoyed it a lot. Great job!
Good catch, thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!
Damn, this game is probably the best one I've seen in this game jam so far. Seriously, it was a 5/5 on everything. It feels super polished, super well done, and very fun to play. It is a bit hard though, especially on the level with an out-of-screen turret, but maybe I'm just the noob here talking. Excellent work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ran out of time trying to fix WebGL to work properly with different screen resolutions, there shouldnโt have been any off screen turrets! Oops ๐ฌ
Pretty neat to have flipped tower defense on its head like that !
I also like the full mouse only controls, this also makes for a good mobile adaptation later down the line.
My only gripe would be that the bullets in the stages you get shot at don't pop quite enough, and i feel it would be better to gamify them and have them colored bright and flashy for gameplay's sake.
other than that its solid, and it's fun, well done to you guys :)
Really original! I would have liked if the bullets were larger and slower, easier to see but other than that it was all good
Consistent feedback, bigger bullets. Will do! Thanks for playing!
Men that a really great concept !!
The idea of the bomb est pretty cool, that could create a very cool mobile game.
Maybe having more level or more enemies and more polish like more camera effect ...
Nice job !!
Ahhh yes camera effect on a bomb game, good call.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the idea of inverting Tower defense and with the bomb you naturally made use of the 10 sec theme. I like the look, only thing I would suggest is making the projectiles larger or more prominent. Very enjoyable, but also very tough towards the later levels.
A few people mentioned the projectile smallness and the fact that the bullet shadows threw them off. Good call. I have a habit of making my games too hard so I made sure at the very least to make the opening levels accessible to casual gamers. Ran out of time for level design and polish but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Overall, the game is good, but the gameplay is the same
I did unfortunately run out of time for level design on the last day, do you have any recommendations on what I could add in a later update to keep gameplay fresh?
