Really well made! The art is good, it's really charming. The effect when changing phases is really good! The Sound could be more present. It's quite quiet, we would like to hear the sound of our weapon, the tables, and especially the monster. Like it would be nice to have a "sound identity" to it other that some laugh when it beats us (which is funny ngl) Also the music is a banger! I love me some synthwave. I guess it could have been synchronised with the gameplay phases, it would have been nice, but that's just nitpicky haha. Overall great job!
Really enjoyed this! I liked the idea with the two phases a lot. Keep up the good work!
a pretty cool game but for some reason when i play on the website the cursor just lag a lot so i dont see my cursor properly and cannot aim. but its still cool
Nice job in this game, i just took a while to understand that i could only throw pencil in the upside down phase.
Cool game! Took me a while to understand what the 10 second upside down "dimension" meant, but after that I've managed to play it nicely. Cute art and nice Stranger things reference :)
i love how you can flip the desks to hide behind -almost like space invaders in a bullet hell way. The graphics are awesome and overall very fun!
Really cool game took a second to realize that you can only shoot in the upside down but that made it really enjoyable it made you want to keep playing good job.
I liked it, and in particular the fact that you can only shoot while in the dark zone
An excellent entry that looks good, is fair, and fun to play.
PROS:
- Love the pixel art, both style and animation is quite good. Even the tutorial has a lot of character in the presentation.
- The projectile movement creates a nice smooth ramp of difficulty escalation and they're very forgiving.
- The audio was appropriate and unobtrusive so it set well into the world.
- I actually quite like the "other world" mechanic that lets players brain-switch between attack and dodge mentality.
- IFrames when hit are nice and forgiving and definitely got me out of a tight jam towards the end of one of my sessions.
- I actually love the monster push keeping players in line in terms of where they can and can't go.
CRITIQUE:
- The "other world" could probably use more feedback about when a transition is about to occur. Possibly the boss flashing for a couple of seconds and/or playing an animation to give a nice little warning.
- Before the diagonal projectile patterns there are definitely cheese spots on the sides where the monster doesn't manage to hit even in the "other world" projectile spam.
- Some of the latter patterns with the large amount of diagonal projectiles seem impossible to dodge, but I didn't dedicate a ton of time to figuring that puzzle out and it does ramp difficulty to 11.
