I finished the game, I really enjoyed it, I liked the graphics and the map, and how it shows you where you have to go. But at the same time I'm not sure I completely understood the mechanic of the game. To finish it I just repeated the same lie over and over to make my lie bar grow. Just work on the design of the lie mechanic and you'll have a great game!

Hey this was a lot of fun, at least in concept. After a while the game gets a bit repetitive and grindy but I think that if expanded upon, the game could be quite fun, and you could maybe have some real side quests to get your lying levels up. The ending was a bit predictable but I liked how the Accept and Sense lying UI was just faded out so you kind of had to look around there to see it.
The art is very nice, but maybe you could make the map feel more like a village cause it kinda just looks like roads with houses here and there.
The music (even though after a few loops it got repetitive) was also quite nice: simple repeated motiff that isn't too annoying to the ears and relaxes.
Im not too sure what the health was for at the top left but maybe that's when you deplete a villager trust bar?
Anyways, nicely made entry, even though you could have maybe found ways to make it a tad less repetitive. Good job!
Thanks, can surely work in the world as an entity... The health was for if you accept scam missions, you follow up to a person who beats you and reduces your health by one (everything I just mentioned happens in imagination when in actual a black screen appears and disappears...) Thanks for playing!
Currently I am working on new quests thankyou :)
I really liked the ending in the game! The game did get a little repetitive though.
Which ending are we talking about in here... You my friend are the first to reach till ending that I know of
The repetitive is true and I am working on it, I started a thread just for that, if you have any more ideas on quests I would really appreciate of you could contribute your ideas here
I played your game for half an hour. It's very cute and interesting! Here is what I thought about it.
GAME MECHANICS
- The game mechanics are pretty neat. Not so many RPG got to explore social skills instead of just slashing monsters. Maybe some games like Mother or Undertale inspired you?
- I didn't understand why dark characters appear when I click on a building door. And why the screen goes black when I get close to them. I even got stuck with the black screen, nothing happened after, had to restart the game. Intentional?
STORY/NARRATIVE
- Every fake quest is very funny and entertaining to read. But there is not enough of them, felt like maybe 5 total? It should be simple to add 20 more to avoid redundancy.
- Seemed like there was only 2 types of trustful quests (the pub investigation one, and the fedex one). Was this redundancy intentional?
NAVIGATION
- I liked the small town, because in RPG games, it's easy to make vastly empty world that are boring to navigate through. In your game, the scale is just right and feels good.
- Is the mini-map actually useful? It doesn't show much more than the game screen.
- The black square marker is confusing if you don't already know its purpose.
ART
- Nice minimalist design. But did you make everything yourself? It feels like some tiles, like the trees, are just imported from the Unity package. The game jam instructions required to do everything from scratch.
- The guard is to similar to other NPCs. His design should feel like a boss. Someone special.
THEME
- To my eyes, you're one of the few projets that interpreted the game jam theme in an interesting way. The game itself is not a troll, the mechanics are actually built around the truth/lie trope.
wow ok many things to answer
1)I am not sure about the dark screen and (stuck there?), But the dark screen is when fake missions are accepted, and on life is removed, I got a suggestion to add text representation of what happened as it was hard to figure out, I have improved ot in that aspect
2) The quests agreed were very little, had to work on other aspects if the game aswell, believe it or not the dialogues and quests were coded last hour of the submission, adding more quests is what I am working on currently.
3) The mini map in this state is utterly useless, but I had to implement it, I had an Idea of using it like GTA, but couldn't complete it in time, I added recently NPC location and zoomed out the map a little. The sqaure was unfortunately my lack of understanding of rotation, I had a pointing arrow initially thought of using but I couldn't figure out the rotation of it, in my current state I figured out the rotation and are working great!
4) The assets (game art) are made my me from scratch, even the trees I am glad it feels like something from unity store, it boosts my confidence about my art :D
5) Interesting point on guard... I'll update that character to look like a boss.
PS did you complete lying to guard and entered the cave? Cause I feel thats the main point of the game... Thanks for this in detail feedback :)
I was going to level up enough to see the guard (by the way, the connection between the full gauge and being able to lie to the guard is unclear. Had to read your text tutorial to understand that part), but the game got stuck on a black screen.
I reloaded it, tried to get further, but on a second play the gauge feels an eternity to fill xD. After that I read your spoilers of the end.
So you did all the art yourself, wow, very good job!
Great graphics, musics gets repetitive fast(same as quests), but thanks to those graphics it was very pleasing. :)
I like the graphical style and the concept with the lying, however I'm not a fan of the minimap, its honestly completely useless as it only shows maybe and inch more than whats on screen. Also some of the dialogue didn't seem to make sense. I agree with what other people said about needing an indicator that the player was scammed. It was also hard to find where I was going, improvements to the map would likely fix this.
I also liked the characters you made and many of the quests were fun. Overall good job!
The art is nice, but the music is a bit repetitive. I got a mission to go to the pub, but I couldn't figure out how to get into the pub. Perhaps you can also make the map a bit bigger, since it currently doesn't show more than is already on the screen.
Nice art ...Music was also cool !!!! Good work :)
Minimap was just showing the same what was on screen ... it had no special use!!! But else it was good !!
Like the idea! Art was really good. Audio was nice! Good job.
Though the mini map can't look further than the main screen so what's the purpose of it?
Other than that, amazing game!
interesting consept. love it. had a few graphical issues though. the screen will black out and freeze for a couple seconds. could see the minimap showing the player moving animation but he doesnt move.. dont know if its just the webplayer or its somehow intentional.
Great take on the theme and even though I'm not a big 2d pixel rpg fan, this felt fun and very well put together. A strong contender for a winning game!
I especially liked the art.
An improvement can be increasing the amount of quests. Otherwise a cool entry in a week
That was neat. I love Pixel-RPG-Style Games.
If you want to see arrows pointing toward your target like HawKre suggested you should try out my game:

Also available as Browser-Version only not linked to the submission
Nice concept, but requires some polish
Fun little game. I felt like a right creeper hiding behind the tree to see which pub the dude's sister went to! I like being able to lie or tell the truth. Music was a little repetative. Overall, fantastic effort.
Would really appreciate if you could review our game too :) Thanks!
