I have several friends that submitted their own game and it ranges from 4 hours total to 8 hours per day for the entire jam (~48).

How  many hours (total team hours) was put into YOUR game? Just curious.

I would say I spend probably 20 hours of coding, 7 of making art and 3 of making music and sound effects. This is an average of approximately 4,3 hours a day :)

I don't know the exact time but I think it was about 6 hours a day

there was 3 of us working on it so a combined total of roughly 72-80 hours.

anywhere from 6 to 12hrs everyday and i was  stuck on lighting in unity for 2 days that's why my game only has one level :(

Great lighting ;) I wanted to add a day/night cycle + rain and a glitch effet to my game, but I decided to cut it

I started on day 2 and spend the last 3 days 7h a day!

I didn't think about this as I was too deep in developing mode but it was 9:00 - 22:00 every day with breaks for food so  about 70 hours which is mental hahah

3 hours a day on average.

I think I spend about 30 hours in total for my part. I don't know for the rest of the team.

Submitted

Roughly 85hrs coding, 65ish art, more for writing, design, testing, etc across the the team.

We started working on Saturday, planning and designing, then on Sunday we started proper work and we did at least 9 hours every day until literally the last minute (we uploaded it with less than 10 minutes to spare). https://kindermanncorp.itch.io/nobodys-home we almost died!

didn't count but from 55 to 70 hours,I know it is a big gap https://itch.io/jam/cgj/rate/476627 .

I also should been between 60 and 70 hours. That was my first game jam and I didn't manage my time very well. I spent way too much time on the main character and useless things that I cut afterward and because of that I had to cut a lot of gameplay I had planned.

It's nice to see so many people working so hard on their game.

cause of work I spent maybe 26 😣 I wanted to give it more.

I spent about 4-5 hours a day with a one day break on my game - Brave the Bugs

I realized that jam was on when there were 48 hours left for the deadline. I managed to work on the game for 8 hours in two sessions. And 5 minutes when I realized I had misspelled a couple of words towards the end. In that I barely managed to finish my game without graphics and sounds or music.

My little brother and I worked ~40 hours on Malgrim Research Institute.  We've shared our project planning folders here!

• Planning - writing the story, game design document, gameplay flowchart,

• Recording - our voices are the two characters you meet, creating sound fx, writing music

• 3D Modeling - I sculpted everything inside of Unity from primitives

• Animating - buttons, switches, levers, sliders, elevator, machinery, in game cinematic, ending

• Scripting - several decision trees (obeying vs disobeying narrator), interactive table console

• Testing - hah :P we totally ran short on time

• Having Fun - yeah! enjoyed sharing and meeting other really cool game devs along the way

Fun fact, on Thursday I stayed up all night to work on this, went to work Friday, and then stayed up all night AGAIN on Friday (I didn't know it was possible to not sleep for that long) but it kinda backfired because Saturday morning I was so zombie mode I really couldn't get anything done and my bro was like.. what is wrong with you?!

So overall, we aimed a bit too high for this jam and had to cut it way short.  But, we're still developing it and after the two week rating period we'll share our more complete version!
