I think this is the start of something great. Definitely gave me moments of ideas and inspiration, like the addition of sound effects, of if you had a little campfire GIF at the bottom and the whole thing was a ghost story. Definitely add more player interaction. Not every player interaction needs to lead to branch in story, but would just serve the purpose of engaging more. Overall this is one of the more unique experiences of the gamejam, and that's always a good thing! Keep up the good work
Personally I'm not a fan of visual/text novels, and I wish it was a little bit more interactive. But objectively, the story was well-written and kept me engaged, and something I didn't expect to find in a game jam, it's something really unique.
Hi! I’ve played your game and it was pretty cool experience. The story is really well-written and with a little more polish (sound effects, fonts combinations) it can be even better. Maybe it would be great to give more choice options to the player if it doesn’t break the flow of the story. Anyways, the game is really nice and that’s truly a unique entry. Well done!

First of all i want to commend you on finishing this game, its a hard thing to do and well done.
Secondly, I'm sorry if i come across as harsh in my following critique. I only mean the best in listing things that could be improved.
1) It takes entirely too long for the player to make a choice. You're going to lose players if you don't engage them early. A good way to engage the player early would be to let them chose some basic customization options, say their name or their gender.
2) The first choice's options should feel different. You can have choices that are all effectively the same like that but it should not be the first choice. That combined with the long times between choices makes the player feel like they are reading a book instead of playing a game.
3) I personally couldn't really follow the story. Though this could be a problem with my reading comprehension.
Like others have said its a unique entry :) Unexpected story and reading concept since I don't do it enough hah. I think some of the scenes where characters were interacting and the text kept shifting quick could have been slowed down a little. As for the future I can see the benefit in Foley audio / voice acting to give the tale more impact / make it more dynamic :) Overall interesting concept and fun story. Good job!!
This is a unique entry to the jam. I enjoyed it as a beautifully written piece of art, unorthodox in its presentation in the way House of Leaves is, e.g.
The pace was fun, it was a nice use of different effects and fonts to make it more immersive

I enjoyed the writing a lot! Very good athmosphere. I think this still defenitely counts as a videogame and i dont really see a reason why it should not. Its a work of art just like any other videogame. keep it up!
I enjoy the writing and chill nature of the game. However, the lack of art or really any sort of influence over the story (except like the 2 choices you make which basically are just the same but with different sorts of wording) doesnt really make this a video game, more like if Telltale hired good writers and made it focuss on the story. Overall neat but not really appropriate for a gamemaking competition.
twine games have been pretty established for years now. art or visuals aren't necessary to make a game (look at the 80s text-parser adventure games). combine that and the fact that theres a whole subset of visual novels that have no real input by the player (Umineko and Higurashi being two extremely popular examples in the medium), and it's... kinda whatever.
i mean, unless you wanna get into a discussion of visual novels not being games, which... i get, even if i don't at all agree
To be honest, it's not really about the genre not being actual videogames. It's just that the very thing defining a game is being able to get any sort of lose condition and win condition (they can be defined by being high on score boards, getting a satisfying from an array of ending and so on). There's like no sort of really altering anything. I may not be familiar with visual novels but I did expect to have my actions to have any sort of effect. I suppose it's just my view. Either way, I did give this entry an overall moreso positive rating.
